I Need to Kill Something

I Need to Kill Something

While it's not hunting season for any kind of serious game yet, before my surgery I need to get out in the woods and just kill something, maybe a bunny or a birdie or a squirrel, anything will do right now.

While my preferred game has always been another armed human, this is against the law except in war time and since I am not a member of the armed forces and not in a war zone, hunting another human is a huge no-no. darn it.

So I have cleaned up my 22.250 mounted a small 4X scope on it and set some rules for myself, no shots to be taken under 100 yards. Only one round loaded at the time. If I miss the one shot the target gets to live another day. If I wound it, I will load another round and finish the deal.

So look out bouncer, look out screwy, and woody, here I come ready or not.

Just out of curiosity, are you using a 22.250 because that's all you have at hand or simply because its enough for the satisfaction you are searching for?

Personally I've never shot a gun before, unless you count nerf foam guns, supersoakers, BB guns, paintball guns. I would like to try a shotgun and/or a magnum. Just to see what it feels like.

I should stop playing GTA games.

Yes, Charles, you should. Especially if the characters are closer to being your friends than anyone in real life.

because it is one very accurate weapon, and using the rules I have placed on myself it seems fair. I could use a .22 long but it just sounds so weeny when it goes off.

CJ is my bro, don't no one mess with him or I'll use my cheat code to bust out a missile launcher and blow you, your car and any idiot walking by away.

Back on planet Earth.....

So what you are saying is the 22.250 is not the only weapons at your disposal? Sweet.

Or BS, your choice. Still, you could always aim at his Internet modem or PC and claim it a lost bullet with a happy ending.

I have one request. Be on the look of a sado-squirrel. If you see it don't shoot.

She would be sorely missed.

Before you even handle a real weapon you should be educated on their characteristics and use. The last thing you need is to handle a powerful weapon without any knowledge or experience.

I was raised with them and owned my first firearm, a .410 shotgun, at the age of 6. That was after I had proven to my father that I had paid attention and could hit a target consistently with a .22 rifle.

You don't need to fire a magnum until you can hit the bullseye from 100 yards with a .22 pistol.

Charles I have a collection of weapons that would make the average weapon man drool, from long guns to hand guns even a couple semi-autoloaders {rifles} from.22 all the way to .50 shotguns to dream about, over and under. side by side 12 guage, 16 guage and even a 20 guage.

Enough ammo stored to start and takeover a small third world country. heh heh heh

Awww.

Not to worry, sado-squirrel is very skilled in forest warfare, camoflauge, and making IEDs out of acorn shells and the gunpowder scrapings from spent shells. They might only blow your little toe off, but you'll still be going home post haste, leaving us fuzzy, harmless little forest creatures to plot our world domination in peace!

Bwahahahahahahahahahah, if I run across trhis beast, I will let it live.

And I bet you have a copy of Tremors stored with the guns. I'm sure you're a big fan of Burt Gummer and his arsenal in the movie.

That's just stupid, not to mention insulting.

I also have a nice assortment of weaponry. Mine includes not only a broad range of firearms from .223 to .50 but edged weapons as well. Hell I even have a belt buckle that is a fully functional .25.

Why? I thought it was funny. I was meant to be funny. Stupid is funny in many TV shows and cartoons. And why would this be insulting?

Don't you people know a joke when you see one? Why so sensitive?

Go back and read what you wrote from the perspective of someone other than yourself. There is absolutely nothing there to indicate humor as opposed to sarcasm or derision. You have to remember than words alone do not communicate tonal qualities or body language. That's why we have emoticons to help communicate these things, otherwise people will take such comments in the wrong way.

first I believe charles was being funny not mean minded.
second one of my favorites is an over and under .41 derringer so small it almost disappears in my hands. 10 feet and under someone is in BIGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG trouble.

I did notice I did not put one of those smiley faces that could have helped with the "tonal qualities or body language". My bad.

Just to let you know, I tend to joke often when the conversation is not a heated debate. Kinda in my nature, hard to control.

Yeah, I got that now. Like I mentioned above, without anything to indicate a tone words alone can be read any number of ways.

Yeah I'm pretty fond of my little .38 Derringer.

Charles, I recall you raining on someone's joke recently when it was posted in the "Humor" section. I'm not so sure why you are so defensive and calling Mason here being 'sensitive' when you did the same thing. I'm not saying this to create a quarrel but to just make you aware (if you weren't already).

I would suggest that you find ways to point out that you are joking such as j/k, emoticons, etc...
