Speaking for a few skinners off-site. We also have the same concerns as I.R.B. From just looking at the couple screenshots up from skinstudio it's kinda hard to tell for sure but, I really hope thats not the extent of what we're gonna view in SS. In old SS we can see the whole window and all elements in relation to it and each other. There just has to be more to it than you guys are showing us, right?

*hopes*

Sorry for this being slightly off topic. But, there is a dock, task bar, object bar or something similar showing just above the task bar at the bottom of the second picture under the WindowBlinds 6 discussion. It shows "Main Apps Internet Util Games" on a transparent background.

I've seen this in a number of Stardock screen shots. Which OD program is this and which skin is being used? Thanks in advance for this information.

Back on topic, this looks like it's going to be a great year for OD subscribers. Can't wait for all the new goodies.

What will be the renewal prices for the two levels of OD going forward? I've got a sneaking suspicion that we will be upgraded to Ultimate for free, but 12 months later we'll find that the usual upgrade price many of us have been paying since forever will relate to the regular package and there will be a new, higher price for the ultimate edition.

I know that sounds pretty negative but when I first subscribed to OD the scope of the product was described thus - "By joining, you get everything already available, plus everything we create in that year." Since then Stardock have introduced a number of new components and even whole suites (e.g. ThinkDesk ,which I also subscribed to) that we had to pay separately for that arguably fall under the description of "everything".

Do you know what? Forget it. Regardless of how "diluted" OD has become over the years it's always been worth the price of admission. Even ThinkDesk is worth it for the excellent KeepSafe alone. I'd still be interested in knowing that renewal price, even though I'm going to pay it anyway.

That is ObjectDock Plus, which is not a part of Object Desktop.

This new upgrade is very exciting. I am looking forward to it. LOL, I am still trying to learn all the stuff I have now. Keeps me busy and out of trouble.

All Object Desktop components are required to support Vista 64-bit.  I hope (better be) using Vista 64 a year from now.

I've had ObjectDock Plus for a long time and never saw that tab style amoung the choices. I just took another look and found it.

Thanks, that's just what I've been looking for.

Great news,

I too would like to know the price and feature differences between the regular and ultimate versions of object desktop. I wounder if paying for an extra year now at the current price would also get upgraded.

then way show it as part of OD 2008 ? note it being in the screenShot makes it as Part Of OD 2008
so that, would be misleading and on the Verge of, if not Unethical switch and Bate tactics.

I am only Stating this do to the Fact I too Got my OB in February of this Year 2006 and LogonStudio is part of OD

{ AS long as you Have VISTA ) other then that you have to be stuck with the LogonStudio_public at witch I look at it as unfair to the XP users I had to Pay for something I don't get to use!!!

System Requirements:

* Windows XP for XP edition, Windows Vista for Vista edition
* 10MB free drive space
* 256MB RAM

Note: Windows XP Professional machines joined to an Active Directory domain cannot use LogonStudio since logon screens aren't applicable.

I do Have Windows XP Professional But I am NOT on an Active Directory domain.

But As for the New OD 2008 It looks cool so far

Here is a Screen Shot it tells all

http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/889/logondl3.jpg <<<---- Just Copy and past in browser to see Full Size

Note: Not Even One For XP users In the screen Shot..

You are trying to install LogonStudio Vista. Download the XP edition from WWW Link

On the note of SKS 6, it would be nice if there was a button to reload the skin without having to go through menus.

I have the LogonStudio_public <<< --- FREE

XP version is not in the List
PurrBall, But Thanks .

The Vista version is currently only available for ObjectDesktop subscribers, and the XP one is no longer developed, free, and only available from the website. Logonstudio_public is the full XP version of LogonStudio. LogonStudio XP is not part of ObjectDesktop.

Great news about Vista 64 Bit versions. Thank you for responding Frogboy, I feel much better now about recently updating my OD subscription.

While the new WB6 looks awfully exciting...the new SKS screeny looks REALLY oversimplified, worries me a bit I suppose, Hopefully we can retain some of the difficulty level in skinning as weird as that may sound, it looks like everytime you want to go to a different section you have to click a "page" link on left, hopfully the page transitions will immediate, I tend to click around extremely fast and often. Im REALLY hoping that the advanced interface will NOT have all the "This is "Button A" and it does "this" verbage included.

Sort of a " I do not want what i do not have" sorta..approach..Nothing worse than looking at fluff all day when all you need is meat and potatoes.

That and what I.R brainiac mentioned are my main concerns but I'm gonna take a leap of faith and knowing you asked for our suggestions a while back... believe that you have implemented some if not all of them.

Cheers and thanks for the preview.

one last thing.. should we take 2008...literally?
I second the question as to whether or not 2008 is a literal or similar to car models... though of course I don't think production should be rushed. You guys have a good history of getting things done fast and well though, so, I'm not worried.

Also... FREAKIN' AWESOME! The features of WB6 look fantastic! Being able to breathe new life into old skins is going to be great. TweakVista also looks nice, but I'm hoping the power user features will be as powerful as they should be. Again, though, I trust you guys.

Thanks to all the devs for the fantastic work!

Object Desktop subscribers often get access to betas and releases of software before the public, that is one of the benefits of being a subscriber.

LogonStudio Vista will be made public eventually.
