SDC [Still] Won't Archive - [More] XML Data [Now] Missing

no porn in title - no support shows up

https://forums.wincustomize.com/?forumid=167&aid=148223#1169052
As mentioned last month in my post concerning passing naked aliens in moderation, SDC won't archive either in auto or manually.

Seems my xml data is missing.

Tried each server, updating each time 1st.
Refreshed xml data each time (3895kb)
My xml data is still lacking.

The only way I can archive is to select one that available then download and archive.
In order to use it, I have to unistall the version I'm using first ---- but since I can't archive that one, I'll lose it.

I like making archives of the version I'm using in case I have to roll back.

But I can't

v1.0.3705
v1.1
v1.1 hotfix kb886903
v2.0

the only one showing any size, used, last used on... is v2.0 last used 3/19/2006

I let windows autodate - go back once in a while to see the other noncritical - saw the v3 before, but I remembered how I screwed it up trying to get paint.net to work

2.0 should be fine.......

Hit this in Firefox: WWW Link

Does it show all versions installed (up to V4)? (ignore the info at the bottom).

..and both had been/were installed prior to SDC going AWOL? (All 3 WERE working together at some point)
yep -

as SuperK mentioned in #3 - it's only been borked for a little while

I definitely think it's SDC not installing correctly (everything else checks out fine).....the question is why......

While I sleep  try something. Turn off Trend and just use the Windows firewall. Un-install SDC completely. Reboot.
Now, with Trend off, install SDC. Reboot. With Trend still off, try an archive/install.

I'll try it tomorrow... don't want you fretting while you try to sleep

thanks

THIS IS STARTING TO SUCK...

Turned of TrendMicro.

Uninstalled SDC, rebooted, copied - then deleted SDC folder, ran reg cleaner, downloaded new SDC from the SDC page.

Installed SDC (got version 2.42.449 build 141), refreshed xml data, SDC started a auto update of new version, new version hung up part way, had to kill SDC.

Still can't archive and now have only one xml (manager.xml) in the 'installed' folder.

Only good coming out of this so far is ODock 1.9 (free) now shows as installed

got version 2.42.449 build 141

I've asked them to remove that build Bichur. This is the exact same build that doesn't update to the better 147 build and that caused me and a couple of other people a lot of trouble when trying to install Deskscapes.

See this thread: WWW Link

In post #21 Zubaz gives a link to an older version of Stardock Central, which then should update fine to the newest build (2.43.451 Build 147).

I would do the same scrubbing before though. Hope this works.

Still having difficulties I see. I'd make a suggestion....but nah, you probably wouldn't like it.

Thanks for the input Aufinch.

I originally updated to Version 2.43.451 build 147 around Apr 22

been having the xml / no archive issue for a while (for a least a couple of builds before this post

I had the one you mentioned bookmarked - I believe I even used it during the other post

I tried the one at the SDC page to see if maybe it would be better - wish I had read the DeskScape post a little more thoroughly.

ericaa - the way it's going lately... you're probably right.

off to try updating again
