Weather Docklet by Jeff Barmann Version 1.6 and Stardock

After a recent update I was hoping the weather docklet would updated. It has !!! But it still does not work.I tried Brisbane Australia I tried Oceania Brisbane Australia. No Good.
Maybe it only works in the US. Pity I do not live there. Neither do a lot of your customers

I also have this problem with the weather dock!
But, just for trying, I writed: London, United Kingdom, and didn´t work, too

I sawed in another topic that the system tray tab also have some problems, I updated the object dock from 1.5 to 1.9 and the icons in the system tray desapears. Also the weather.

Is this a serious update? it realy worth it?

Im in Denver, Colorado and the docklet only shows yesterday's high temperature and that's it. It also won't go the pages that show the radar, etc, when you click on them.

If you are frustrated with this issue then there is a solution.....at least one which enables you to have a forcastable weather docklet in your OD.

This is a link for Sysstats 2.5.11: actually a really cool program ,by Judge,that allows you to add docklets such as CPU, battery, calander and weather to OD.

The weather docklet is one that Ive used for ages and it even provides a 3 day forcast (though not in fly-out form). Just follow the instructions to install the plugin and weather docklet provided on the link:

Its better than beating ur head over this issue with the current OD weather and there are tonnes of other stuff that you can add into it as well.

This is just the kind of thing that constantly makes me want to throw up. A product comes from the US with some new "features" that nobody asked for, which don't even work for those poor benighted morons who aren't lucky enough to live in the glorious U S of A. And who cares? Nobody.

When I first installed Object Dock Plus, I had to spend an hour trying to work out how to get local weather, finally finding something like SEXX0031. That, of course, is not accepted any longer, and so far all attempts to get any weather information for Stockholm have failed miserably. As thomassen has already said, Stockholm, Sweden produces a request for specification among

* Stockholm, Sweden (Jamtland)
* Stockholm, Sweden (Skane)
* Stockholm, Sweden (Stockholm)

which in itself is ridiculous, and insulting - the distance between Jämtland and Skåne is about 500 miles north-south, neither contains a Stockholm, and they tend not to share weather conditions.

Will Americans ever learn that Europeans are actually real people, and not merely zoo animals for the amusement of tourists?



The Stardock guys have now commented several times in this thread that the problem is being addressed and as far as I am concerned they have always been good to their word,so a little patience would be virtuous.
Let's get this into perspective eh...it's a faulty weather docklet,not a leaking nuclear reactor...hardly the international incident you make it out to be.
I'm English and I've never noticed that we get anything other than equal treatment on this site.
And to the other person who said he can't live without the docklet...jeez fella..you wanna get out more.   Just give it a while and it will be sorted out,as things always are here.

If it makes you feel better, I'm in the USA and it doesn't work for me either. I should be able to enter a US Zip Code, which it allows me to do, but when I hover over the docklet it shows the weather for a different Zip Code. When I try to go back in and fix it, it shows the correct Zip Code being entered, but still doesn't report the correct location. AccuWeather has my Zip Code in its database too...

One suggestion, Weather Docklet group needs to look in to the Mac Accuweather widget, that might give you some ideas

That was me that said I cant live without it, but if you paid attention, I was merely joking. Some people. I use the XML docklet, just would have been nice with this one.

and so on...

those cities work fine!
Why the capital of Poland doesn't work??

Have you got any idea how to solve my problem?

Thanks for keeping us up to date with the fact that this is being worked on.

I was just wondering when we can expect these issues to be ironed out and when perhaps the next update will be available to us all here that solves these issues?...in the next week or month?

Just that giving us an idea of when we might be able to get a fix might help lessen some of the frustration

I was not as fool as i thought ...

Here we are Thursday Mai 3rd 12:08 and the weather widget gives me weather forecast for:
Today
Tomorrow (which should be Friday ...)
Friday
Saturday
Sunday

I get the right time here in france, so what can bring this error (the time difference with server from AccuWeather ?? )

I think it's a part of the mater cause mine it's in updating i think "feed not available... try later." set as "Paris, France" it runs good since the install thus...

I think maybe i've understood what's wrong: it's probably a trouble which is coming from using Winter Time and Summer Time here in France ... Normally France is GMT+1 but Winter time is one hour above GMT+1 and Summer Time is 2 hours above GMT+1

Apart of this, i've the chance of having two meteo station just near me (above 5 km far each) and the weather forecast given by Weather Accu with the localisation i entered is very close to what i get with the weather reporting in Sysmetrix using the other location ... Of course the close you leave to the meteo point, the close result is OK ...

Hi Guys,

We're actually in the process of greatly improving the system. Should be back and fine for now. The next few weeks you might see occasional issue...and at the end of it we'll be doing an update. Updating the system to be significantly more robust & do a better job at finding cities, provide the most up to date information possible, etc

no, mine is still whacked a week after rollout ; the temp is 4 degrees higher than it should be + weather conditions totally wrong...+ I am getting a error msg in Stardock Central that I need to enter the serial # + update my e-mail address for Objectdock Plus when all I have ever used is the free-ware version which I updated in Stardock Central...have filed a trouble ticket but I seem to not to be able to make the tech understand that I know very well how to do an un-install but with the error msg window that comes up in the 'Misc' section for the Objectdock link, once I hit the OK for the error msg for serial # / e-mail address update, the Objectdock link evaporates + there is no other way to un-install ...I can't even do a roll-back w restore to previous settings as we are now in a new month + rollbacks are only for the current month + I updated last Friday, the last of April...hopefully resolution for the Accuweather server data + this glitch in Stardock Central are resolved soon

I'm also having an issue. I'm in Southern California and my docklet is showing as cloudy and 54 degrees outside...but it's actually sunny and 76. I've tried right clicking > update weather to no success.
