Yrag.... I can't get on the net via IE7 [or Opera] unless I shut ZAPro down...which, when you think about it is kinda pointless.

SDC/IRC works, though, it seems...as does outlook.....

Do I need to buy another computer?

Have I broken this one too?...

...and it's listed in the Firewall Trusted Zone? If it is, then set the Privacy settings as noted above and re-start ZA. Try the browsers again.

set the Privacy settings as noted above and re-start ZA. Try the browsers again.

Wont load....says 'website found....etc' then goes to 'done' with "IE cannot display this page" - as the page loaded.

Had to off cookies and ad sliders again to load here.

Deleted those files in safe mode...rebooted...set the options as requested...no go.

Turned sliders to off...and could login...

So...the only difference is the permissions/history thingie was blank...function still fubared...

So I have this right.....you can now get on the net via the three browsers, but can't log on to WC.

Privacy/ Site List. Allow everything for each entry relating to Stardock/ Wincustomize. Under the Cache Cleaner tab, click Custom and select Stardock/ Wincustomize cookies to 'keep'. In Program Control/ Program Control/ Custom/ OSFirewall: Change the two top settings to 'Ask' and bottom three to 'Use Program Setting'

Now lishen here shee! I'm sorry...but every time I see Yrags avatar I think of Edward G. Robinson. All that duck needs is a huge cigar hangin out of his mouth.

So I have this right

No...the 3 browsers get me nowhere...unless I disable the cookie controls as mentioned...both sliders to 'off'.

However...

The browser in SDCentral DOES work, no matter where those sliders are at.

Like I said...this isn't yer typical weird one...it's ya special weird one....

Allow everything for each entry relating to Stardock/ Wincustomize.

That'd be irrelevant anyway as I cannot go anywhere...eg Google.com, either....when the cookies etc are disabled.

.....so what else is new.....

I think it's a corrupt install, but let's try something before we do the ugly. Enable the Alerts for Privacy. The popup will show what's being blocked. If it shows something, then we'll go from there. If it shows nothing, then do a clean install as follows:

Click on Start -> Programs -> Zone Labs
Right-click on Uninstall Zone Labs Security, then select Properties
Under Target you will see the following line:

"C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zauninstexe"

Change it to:

"C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zauninst.exe" /clean (add a space and then the /clean)

Click APPLY/OK to save the new command line.
Click on Start -> Programs -> Zone Labs -> Uninstall Zone Labs Security
Click OK to run the uninstaller, and OK any security alerts that pop up.
Click Yes when prompted for the removal of all files and allow TrueVector to shut down.

Reboot

After rebooting, check for the following folders, and delete them if you find them:

"Internet Logs"
"Zone Labs" (under your Program Files folder)
"Zonelabs" (under your Windows System32 folder)

Empty your recycle bin

Reboot

Install the latest version.

I'm confident you'll be back with bad news......

Yer darn-tootin'

OK...so it's a dud install....looks like a bit of work to do...

Argh....I officially give up.

I set the Alerts to show...and moved the sliders...to block cookies, etc...as needed...and it's working...

...it's not supposed to be working....

it's broke...

Dunno what's worse...broke when it's supposed to not...or not when it's supposed to be....

Still...tomorrow is another day.....probably will break again....or not...

Friday 13th, too

....if it doesn't, you're just not trying hard enough

if it doesn't, you're just not trying hard enough

Why be difficult when, with just a little more effort you can be downright impossible?....

Well...had to reboot...as Bitdefender seemed to want me to...so while I was at it switch back out of Exploder and into good old LS ....and lo and behold....IE won't load pages until the sliders are on 'off' again.

SDC's browser still works, naturally.....so God knows....
