WindowBlinds 5.01 Preview...

Tweaks, fixes, new features..

Lots of little tweaks coming up in WindowBlinds 5.01.  One little change is wallpaper handling in which users can easily access wallpapers from anywhere on their computer and display them in a single UI.

We expect to have 5.01 out in the next week or two.

It would be nice if the wallpaper function had the same (or better if that's even possible) features of Xymantix Wallpaper Xchange. At least give it an option dialog to choose between Centered, Stretched, Tiled. That would be a great help.

Nice feature. I suppose we can direct it to the directory of our choosing where we have our wallpaper stored....not just the standard 'My Pictures' folder? I have my pictures stored on my second hard drive.

Also, are you guys going to enable skin color control like you did on 4.6? Somes skins I've used in the past I liked to change the gamma, saturation and such. That would be nice if you could re-implement that feature.

I would love to see some new features added around the handling of toolbar icons and shell animations. Its kind of a mess right now, especially when you have several skins that use the same icons. I think my install has about 20 copies of the default XP icons from Microsoft.

Sure hope the native menus and mdi buttons are fixed soon when using per-pixel borders.

9Iron: WindowBlinds 5 has those same colouring features that WB 4.6 had.  The options for them are on the preview in wbconfig.

Does it thumbnail and catalogue your wallpapers? What about converting them to .bmp so Icon backgrounds will stay transparent?

Has there been any improvements in WB 5 handling older WB 4 skins?

I should report that the new Painter 9.5 (Corel) is showing a minor issue when resizing the main workspace window when running WB 4 skins under WB 5 (tested with StealthOS using both the original and alpha versions, and verified WB 4 skin reproduction with Mini OS).

This may be an issue in Painter 9.5 to some degree where the right side of the workspace has a thin tan/white line inside of the "Luna" blue shell side, and the left side only has the blue shell side.

Resizing to maximum with the default Luna shows no issue, where resizing to maximum with the aforementioned WB 4 skins under WB 5 - Painter workspace is left with the thin line drawn in the main workspace.

I have no image button available here, so the description is the best I can do.

Anyway, I thought you should know.

Tracy Eckels: All images are converted to BMP before being applied as the wallpaper.
