If they want diversity, those people should hang out with people outside the college who are not going to school. I think it's really easy as a student to get stuck in a very narrow set of experiences. Not all extremely intelligent people are going to school in honors colleges. I understand what you are saying about the student body but diversity can mean more than what happens on campus.

12 going on 13! Wow. Don't know why I imagined him as being younger. Your pic didn't show, though. If you change your filter regularly, I'd guess you folks have no problem. But I'm not an expert. Hope you're having a good week.

emotional relationships don't have to equal big dramas. Some people think so and can't have a relationship without it overflowing and getting out of control. I'm not saying you are one of those, but I think it's easy to mix up the two.

FS Poor little guy. Another thing you might want to check is the filter in your AC for allergy related stuff. Sometimes they get really nasty and have mold spores that then get blown through the room. I had a college roomie who used to work in a bio testing lab that did samples for sick building and she told me that AC ducts were positively scary. My husband is allergic to mold so we get our AC cleaned at least once a year and only run it in the summer (winter is sti

I've been working on trying to get my photographs accepted with an agency. I've failed my first go round and have to go through it all again from the beginning. I'm starting to be more okay with this but it was pretty crushing. I can see why the images didn't make it but am having a hard time to see how I can fix it to make it better. That is the part that is crus

Tova, you're spot on. SHE I percieved this blog as a moving on entry rather than one pining and heartsick. The therapy you got out of writing this seems to be well worth it. Hope you meet a fella with a lot less ****wittage.

I had this big long post and somehow I clicked a button and went to another page and lost the post. First, I think you did great. Second, I think that what Lifehappens said about boys and fighting is true, but opens a whole can of worms about who gets to decide how much fighting goes too far. Third, I think Hunter sounds like a cool kid. Fourth, I think that the school may be trying to do it's best in applying fair discipline they have failed in a number of wa

Alien gag! Cool! I hadn't even thought of that! Love it! I used a fish-eye lens. It was a lot of fun to use. The distortion really made the whole trip to Hong Kong pretty surreal.

Yep. Sticking to the workout. I need to be careful that I keep my knees healthy though. But the graph on the Nike site that tracks your workout is pretty addictive. I'm glad you're sticking to your workout! GO FS!

in admitting that I did something special for him, I would be putting my crush out there. Easier to pretend it was no big deal than to face a possible rejection, no? Easier if you never want anything to happen from it. At some point, someone has to admit that they have their real cards on the table. I

I hope you ate some sakura flavored ice-cream when you where there. The ice-cream stand is just across the road from the entrance to the temple grounds. This time of year the probably have sakura flavor. May is the ajisai (hydrangea) flavor which doesn't really taste like anything.

I've been really needing some inspiration to get out there and start working out again. The times that I do drag myself to the gym it's okay but I don't put as much into it as I used to. I'm also super careful of those suspicious knee creaks I've been hearing when doing lunges or squats so I don't use weight to do those anymore. Boxing is okay, but the classes are

Weird how I can't edit the original post. Anyhow... I loved using the fish-eye lens in Hong Kong because it gave me the feeling of dissociation. It was exactly like looking at the world through a plastic bubble. I chose the chicken shot because the roasted chickens in the window is a scene I have also seen in New York, Vancouver, Tokyo and San Francisco.

Okay, and there's always the possibility of admiting that you are doing something special for someone instead of blowing it off and making the effort seem like an everyday thing. Some people are insecure and as soon as they hear "Oh, I do that for everyone," they instantly believe it when other people would "get" that it's a big deal. And then again, supreme skull density in others is also an obvious possibility. But seriously, if you do something special for someone, don't kn

Truth and fairness are different concepts so why try to equate them? Fairness doesn't enter into the equation. If something is true, then it happened. If someone runs into a tree then the truth is that someone hit a tree. Fairness has to do more with perception and and interpretation. I also think that the answer to "why?" can't always be answered with complete truthfulness due to things that we don't notice or can't know.

Perhaps humility is the point of the exercise? Sometimes the best thing you can admit is that you know nothing! Maybe, but it seems like an excercise where people are taught to second guess their judgement in a negative way. If they're flat out wrong, then say so. Don't even candy coat it. But if the

Those little prep exercises to get one used to the idea of a mamogram... scaring me miles away from it. I can't tell if it's supposed to be a joke. When I wanted my ears pieced as a young teen and my mom didn't want me to, she'd pinch my earlobe with her nails and say that's what it feels like. Dang, if she didn't end up being close. And I have an aquaintance who actually ironed clothes while they were on her body. Just an arm, but still.<
