Hi All, Hope no-one takes this personally, but I was very surprised to find myself very frustrated and even angry after coming back to play my GalCiv demo from earlier in the year. At the time I had probably been around Moo3 for the week or so I could be bothered to try and have fun with it. So, GalCiv was a welcome breath of fresh air. I remembered a good story line, and something different with the galaxy, ship movement and tech stuff. I was almost going to buy the game with

Forget to check the thread again until now, I see you both replied within 1 hour of me posting it! :-) Thanks to both of you for your replies, you've each given me a reminder or an extra insight into parts of the game I forgot when writing my post, or hadn't realised yet. You've both been very helpful! Now I just have to decide if I'm going to go the whole hog and get drengin.net or whether I just go for GalCiv for now and see how it works out. Thanks again,
Pretty good, but I have some questions. I read about the updates in Galciv 1.1 and I've been reading a lot in this forum and also in CDG so hopefully these aren't too dumb: In the demo I researched 35 techs, discovering 62 in total. I read there are 150 techs in total, and that the tech research rate has been sped up in general. Doesn't that make it too easy to complete the tech tree in a larger galaxy? I'm only playing in a small with 12ish planets and I've completed 20% of it already.
