I would just like to see any widget that accesses the internet being able to handle proxy authentication. There are very few that I can use when I plug the laptop in at work.

I've been frustrated for some time now when trying to use widgets that access the 'net (especially weather widgets). The reason is that for most of the day my laptop needs to use a proxy server and so I'm forced to use proxy authentication. I've found that unless the widget uses ActiveX controls that will prompt me for the proxy username/password I can't use them. Do you need to provide proxy authentication (username/password) to use the 'net? If you do, you'll find that very few of the weather widgets work - in fact only with ones that use ActiveX will work. Just out of interest - how come IconX doesn't always manage to find the icon embedded in the executable? I've managed to overcome this with IconStudio, so it isn't really a problem, but it's always seemed unusual to me.

Yes I did - although I may not have saved the changes correctly. I just noticed that the "new" skin has wound up with the old settings still in place. Sorry about that - I should have checked first!

Hmmm. I couldn't find anything in the exclusions as Sir Bichur mentioned, and Cavan1's suggestions didn't work either. Any other suggestions, or tips for where I might be going wrong?

Hi all, Does anyone know what to tweak in a WindowBlinds theme so that I can ensure the actual page colour of a Word document is white on screen? It seems to be something to do with text fields, but I can't see how to change it. Many thanks!

Yeah - I'm glad I managed to get it too. Maybe we should only use a play on words to name things - something like shorthorn. I'll be interested to see what MS does with Vista - that's a word in common usage and I don't see how they could stop anyone using that! Thanks for the link Woodbridge!

Hi all, I'd love to be able to use the weather widgets etc. while my laptop is connected to my uni network - but the problem is that I need to incorporate proxy authentication in order to have the widget update the weather.
