Yep, did that. Put in the number and all. Perhaps I will try again. I think I even remember the installation instructions saying that I should remove the shareware first, which I did. Oh well, one more time won't hurt...I hope. Thanks.

Purchased WindowBlinds4 the other week. Got registered, etc...however, the popup asking if I want to purchase the program keeps, well, popping up. How do I get rid of it? Thanks, and Happy New Year!
Thanks to all for thinking about this. I have decided to scrap that theme and use another that is similar and customize it to my liking. I think it was probably a script error that freaked it out.
Ok, my computer freaked out when I was trying to customize a theme in DesktopX. It was working well, then for some reason everything locked up. I restarted the computer and a message asked me if I wanted to continue loading a theme that may cause problems or begin with a general theme with nothing basically. At first, I had it go ahead and load it...uh uh, didn't like that and froze up, then most of the system resources were used into DesktopX (more than 90%) and never did anything. Then I loade
Hey! Great to hear from you! Again, thanks for the theme. It's compact, futuristic and has great graphics. Though, I admit that I changed the background image to suit my liking. I'd rather not take up all of your time having you teach me and what have you, but I may write sometime to get some basics. The first "window" has the office tools which are useful. The other "windows", well, I'd l
This is the one...it's by Pjpowell https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?searchtext=&sort=updatedate&order=Descending&library=31&Movies=on Maybe there isn't an updated one that has more "stuff", but I have to ask because I like it. I'm downloading one from his site now, but it wasn't worked on since 2000. We'll see what happens...
I think it was an old one, but I like it a lot. (ThredzX or ThredzX Litestep) It's simple looking, yet I love the way the windows open up. Problem is, I am not quite up to speed (nor can I spend the time to do so) to add and manipulate it to be complete. If you're familiar with this one, there are 2 'windows' with some items already set up, but there are 2 more that are empty. Again, the theme is pretty wild, but doesn't have everything I need. Can anyone help me? Or tell me where I can get a ve
That sucks to hear. I'll look into it. Thanks for letting me know.
When I log on the computer, a message says that some objects may not be something or something and that I can look at the 'blacklist.ini'. what is this and should I be delving into this for any reason? I said "no" this time and the cpu information object didn't show up, so I figure it had some problems. Also, I put the little Enterprise object that flies across the screen. Until this morning,
Yep, that did it. For some reason, the start point for the object was negative. A quick change and I'm happy again. Thanks for the help!
Well...I have the "Sputnik" theme by 'pipowell'. I've left it basically intact, but added a few elements...such as a weather object and a nifty little orb for the recycling bin. These show up, along with others that I've removed. But, the mail checker...Myopia Mail Notify Block and the MyStep Mail Notify Block, both are little mailboxes I thought were interesting. They do not show up. A different object for checking mail, which I didn't like, showed up fine, but these do not. I have Deskto
Downloaded a handy email checker. It doesn't show up on the desktop. Any idea why? No error message, no invalid handle or anything. Seemed to load like a charm. Hmmm. Thanks.
Excellent idea. I usually copy everything over to a disc before I make a cpu change. Thanks for the advice.
Thank you Sir Stumpy.
If I get a new cpu, can I "take" desktopx with me? Or do I have to sign up again? I just never know if it's as easy as transferring all the files over or not. Thanks.
thank you for all the suggestions. i downloaded the trial version of taskinfo2003 and see that it's a powerful program. oh, and to those who are wondering...i misspelled 'virtual'
thanks for your suggestions. i'll give the download a shot to see what's going on.
yes...no luck. thanks for thinking about it though. i'm stumped. should desktopx be using upwards of 18000kb to run? seems high.
Physical memory...523,696kb Available phys. memory...284,120kb total virtual memory...2,038,148kb available virtual memory...1,523,316kb This is as per my system summary. Cpu capacity is 18.64mb I've got 28% free space
As mentioned...I have the drive analysis and an mp3 player. Otherwise, just icons for the normal desktop shortcuts, ie, my computer, my documents, etc. 3 of them are download animated briefcases that I've applied folder shortcuts to, but other than that, nothing else. Should I be changing my memory? I like Win2000prof. because it does it for me as needed, but...
New to this, thanks for any opinions...I've had desktopX for a week now and have changed some icons and added 2 objects (mp3 player, computer usage) and some new ones that I applied some of my folders to as shortcuts (animated icons). It's (the computer) has been fine up until this morning. Suddenly, my virtual memory is well above 45% on a continual basis and is disrupting other programs. What gives? Can I do something about this? Why did it suddenly happen? I was led to believe that desk
