I've been playing a long galactic size game and the game has crashed everytime the finding ship event pops up. I thought I read something about it some where before and I also thought it was supposed to be fixed in the 1.11 version. Is there a fix or will there be a fix for this crash bug? Except for this event crashing my computer, the game has been running great. The game is currently being played on my laptop and it's not hooked up to the network so I can't paste the debugg log, if you r

Maybe the AI isn't so stupid..maybe it was their plan all along to have an incident so they can have an excuse to start a war with you...the moral is: Beware of "free" gifts from your "friends". Of course, it could just be that the AI is missing a few lines of code...

Hi all. I'm pretty sure the answer is yes, but just wanted to make sure. This is my third game and it's the first that I'm playing at Galatic map with 9 oppoents set random from Normal (turned off influence victory). The game haven't been very challenging so far, I had a very good starting position, in the southeast corner and most of the other races were midmap. My closest neighbor was the Acerans, to my north. I was too far away to be attacked right off, and had pr

I read somewhere that sometimes the AI don't initate correctly in a new game. According to some suggestions by posters, in a case like that, you would need to start a new game with the same parameters and then it should play correctly. Of course, you won't know you got a lame AI game until well into the game, especially on huge or larger map....seems like an issues that the dev should be looking into.

After I posted this question, I start my saved game and did just as Achronous suggested, I gave away Xeno Ethics to all the other races and the turn after that, their alignments were set, Dregin now is evil and Iconians (or something like that) is now good. Seems strange they don't research it themselves, maybe it's because I'm at normal differiculty. PS: In my original post up top, I made a mistake, the screen actually said NO ALIGNMENT (Leaning toward evil), not Neutral. <br

In my current game, I have maxed out on the spying on the other races and when I look at the alignment of the other races, they are all Neutral with leaning toward either good or evil. Does the computer opponents ever research Xeno Ethic and choose an alignment like Good or Evil? From the many posts about the Drengin, which is suppose to be an evil race, I was surprise to find them neutral with evil leaning instead of just evil. Am I misunderstanding something here?

I'm playing my first galatic size game (3rd game overall, the others were small maps with 3-5 oppoents under 1.0x) with 9 oppoents under normal difficulty and in my game, the Torians were the first race to surrender. Drengins is now 3rd in the rankings, was like 7th before. I guess it helped that my starting position as Terrans was on the far side of the Drengins so haven't had to fight a war with them yet. But I'm looking forward to it... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles

You are right, Moosetek, it's not a big deal. But try to imagine what a disappointment it is to spend all that time researching all the way up the beam weapon tree and finally after so many turns of research you have reach the pinnacle of beam weapon techology to get...a black box...no new weapon picture. Just doesn't make sense to me.

Blade, thanks for the headsup and the search suggestion, I'm new to the GalCiv2 game and to me it's all new.. I did read the previous posts about this "non-glitch" and is it just me, but something about this don't seem right...I mean Stardock spend all the time to work on enhancements and fixes in 1.1 and they couldn't fix this one little bug?? I'm not trying to put down Stardock, I think t

I thought there's an option on the colony management screen to destroy the colony or some such...couldn't you use that to abandon your world if you got too many? DragonPM

Hi everyone, I'm not sure if this is a glitch with the 1.1. patch or if it always been there, but in my current game (galatic map, 9 opponents, normal (random) difficulty) I finally was able to research all the way up to Doom Ray in beam weapon research, but when I went to the ship building screen to outfit a new ship with it, I notice that the weapon icon is blank (black) even though when I select it, I can see the weapon being installed. I also notice some blank (black) component i
