Reply to Difficulty too HIGH? in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

Well, I've played the game extensively on my laptop during off-times (like class :P) and I haven't submitted many games to the metaverse because quite frankly they suck! I seem to be doing a bit better now with 1.13, though my theory is that it can be attributed to the fact that I grabbed up stars very easily (I was lucky). The Drengin are actually OFFERING me money. That's definitely a strange twist.

Am I the only player who finds that the difficulty level of the AI is extreme, at least in terms of diplomacy? I expect a challenge, but the AI continually demands tribute or death for me! I am getting stomped every game, and I have no possible chance to survive despite superior technology. :( Super mad! Every time a new patch comes out, people talk about enhanced difficulty, and I personally freak out.
