I am not sure if links are allowed so if not just it out of the post, please. He is a link to Wal-Mart and the Galactic Civilizations game. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4307241 Links are allowed, as long as they don't contain an underscore character. <img src="smiles/Wink.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle

Just to stick my nose in here, I'll say that I did know there were multiple modules, I saw the + button, and I assumed that selecting the top-level GC2 module and hitting "install" would also install everything underneath it. I realized I was wrong as soon as I saw the download size, but still.

Dude, there's no code "blocking" you from accessing anything. You don't have the game's code. They haven't let any of us download it yet. There's no hack to let you run the exe because it's still on Stardock's server in Michigan.

I, for one, would like Stardock to spend their time developing some other cool stuff for the expansion pack. A competent tactical AI seems like something that would be quite a challenge to create, and I'm not really interested in it. I'd rather spend my money on something else.

When Brad described how diplomatic relationships were calculated, one of the factors was "You are the Yor (or you are not the Yor): -1" So at least the Yor's dislike for organic lifeforms is probably represented in the game.

If you ordered from a retail store (read:anywhere other than this website) your SN is on the box, so you'll have to wait till you get that. Not that there'll be much to download that isn't on the CD. You're not really missing out on anything. We're not actually playing the game early, just downloading the big movies and such so Stardock can work the kinks out of its system and we only have to do a short download on release day to get the last few megs.

If I knew anything about the Internet, I wouldn't go into a public forum and start a thread on what a great setup my system has just for the heck of it. How long you been on this here inter-web, boy? I'd say at least 30% of all forum posts, everywhere, are just people bragging about their systems. <img src="smiles/Wink.gif" border=0 ALIGN="ab

Brad has also said that if you preorder and for some reason don't get the collector's edition you can contact Stardock and they'll make it right (since they know which serial numbers were in the first batch that went out). In other words, don't bring it back to the store, because that makes Stardock look bad.

In GalCiv1 I found it was best to get the population on all my planets as high as possible so as to maximize income and production capacity. How is this different in GalCiv2?

I believe Frogboy said that at some point they would take pre-orders for a multiplayer expansion and base the decision to make one on how many they got. So if only one person orders it, we'll know it was you.

I can just picture someone trying to force Stardock to accept an early payment so they would have to let them download the game early. Slip $45 cash under their office door, give them an email address to send the serial number but no return address to send the money back. What could they do? They have your money; they have to give you the game. Right?
