Good points. Will be interesting to see if Steam sees any reason to adapt; being market leader is a comfortable position. Technically it should not be difficult to separate early access from release reviews. One option would be to restrict considered reviews during early access to a time interval to reflect current state. Definitely separate them from release reviews unless player has spent time with this version and renews the review. Finding the right players is really

Good points. Well, it was a first impression, frustrating problems I experienced as a new player. Burning Cash: maybe unprofitable buildings, but also (1) production not on autosale, not part of tutorial, and (2) too much raw material needed I didn't produce. Autosale fixes the problem most of the time (unless you save for a building/ an upgrade), so an experienced player doesn't see the problem. Anyway the UI doesn't tell the player he needs cash to

Tutorials currently imply that OTC is basically a RTS game with a trading twist. While materials for buildings and upgrade can be bought, the player usually builds a complete supply chain and never touches it. Regular base building. Later he uses his cash to buy out the competition. While focusing on the how of things, the what and why , reading the game, is sold far below value. Many players are very surprised to find e.g. robot statistics indicating

Happened at least 2 times; usually after end of duration, the red spiral fades. Twice it didn't. The gun is gone though. Both times I finished research of teleport while pirates were active, may be the cause or just coincidence.

I know if you hover over a building it tells you the net loss/gain, so am I expected to hover over all my buildings frequently to figure this out? How is this calculated? Is it "total market price of input materials" - "total market price of output materials", accounting for quantities of inputs and outputs per second? Does that number include power? When you hover over a building with adjace

Not every random combination makes for a good user experience. You need a plan to prune permutations. Simple example - when you randomly spawn a hack&slay map, you will cluster your spawn in some way, you'll not just drop every possible combination. You may have summoners, archers and hurlers, but you don't want them to appear together. Currently it feels like a Molyneux game, notorious for their generated content - decent entertainment, but not more. Easy to drop

Basically the generator does a decent job. What I don't like is the seemingly random mix of shortages, auctions, BM options. And in the case of campaign, the offered rewards and upgrades may make strange choices. Sometimes it fits, sometimes it is just a ragtag of different unrelated options. Unclaimed auctions are a good indicator. Sometimes (especially when you can't select a company) the map just plain sucks.. There are BM claim concessions, claim auctions, resou

Follow up on balance of Black Market attacks. Suggestion: link duration of attacks to HQ level of target. Basically the number of claims determines how much you can earn. The production bonus on neighbouring buildings means that area effects usually hit a whole section of production, effectively killing your income or even sending you in debt. An early mutiny on the power station can have similar effects. Currently this effect lasts 2 whole minu

Build 12922 Happened twice to me, usually when several things happen in fast succession. Once (in scientists campaign?) program missed the "build energy generator"-event; box remained unticked for the second generator. No big issue as, with excess claims, just built another wind generator. Didn't try to reproduce and can't really remember what I did when building finished. Last tutorial had to aquire second target (Moreno), goal was to get control. As I ha

No trouble, this is Beta. Anyway I must have been tired yesterday, ofc there's a local save, I used it. I found the issue. Savegames are in a Document folder (My Games\Offworld), which is unusual. But my folder is usually encrypted and must be mounted separately. Windows can use several physical locations for this logical folder. The encrypted version has priority, if it is off then Windows uses the default folder. When I quit I shut down the computer inst

Exclusively? Sounds wrong, at least if you have SP content. Steam offers local play, so usually there's also local saves. I used to play on the train during commute (this game would do very well here),

No problem. I think I know what happened now. I usually play offline, without steam verification, checking for updates only now and then. My playername changed from to (don't know why). So the program is probably missing the save because it looks in the wrong directory?

saved 3rd mission shortly after starting (Menu / Save mission and quit) and called it a day. Next day the option to resume campaign is grey, the save game is lost. Hm. Follow up question: As there is just one auto-save slot, what will happen if I just open the "new campaign" screen? At which point will the current state be written over and lost?

Might cause a wave of unuseful noise with some information nuggets here and there. Profitability changes a lot, and there may be strategic reasons for production beyond current profit. I regularly check the build list, where I can see current expected profits. No huge effort. To grasp current state of affairs in one, I'd need e.g. a count at each building, color coded for profit. EDIT: After further thought I think the information is probably useless anyway.

Build 12745 Just played tutorials and "optional" missions, so this is just a first impression. Before I start nitpicking, it's an interesting game with a lot of potential. If problems are partly due to localisation I'll switch language. Completely missed that caught attacks can be reused (unintuitive?), communicate better in tutorial. --- As I understand it, commodities need cash. Credit is just used for indispensable HQ life support, en
