I want to make a simple object for desktopX that animates when a MP3 is playing. What things do I need to use and what scripts do I need to do this? Thanks. I got the animations done already I just need to script them. Any help would be appreciated.

I would like to see an object that shows contacts from Miranda IM floating on the desktop with their status as it's icon to the left of the name label. I would like to have it horizontally along the top of my desktop but it should be able to go vertically too. http://forums.miranda-im.org/viewtopic.php?t=18847&highlight= Someone at miranda IM just released a program with samurize in mind called mirandaRPC.dll and it makes things that would make that possible available. I would like a to

""#18 by smoke-tetsu - 5/15/2004 5:16:12 PM What I would like is more interoperability with WindowFX and WB." I thought it was supposed to be like that in the first place? Anyway, no I don''t want it packaged with WB. I can''t really use WindowFX on my current computer." (the quote button didn''t work here) Not nessasarily. I mean there is code to specify a shadow but there isn''t a lot of info on how that works or code to make it work. You have to unders

Hello Phar0e, I myself had used Litestep extensively in the past (since it was B23). And I have used DesktopX for a while and here is what I think. There are things in desktopX that you would normally do in Litestep by coding say... an LS box simply by creating the shortcuts on your desktop, and grouping them from a right click. Like for example if you want to make a floating MP3 controlling object that remembers it's position. And the same for making objects that toggle each other. An

What I would like is more interoperability with windowFX and WB. For example, if you could specify a shadow for each border in a WB skin and have it only apply to a window that is skinned by that border. This would work especially well if you can set the inner offset of the shadow in it''''s specification file then you can make custom tailored shadows for just about any skin. This would also give you the appearence of antialiasing in the borders if you do the shadow right. To

Except sdmcp has so far nothing to do with WB. WB doesn't install it or load it. DesktopX, Objectbar, Keylaunchpad, and I can't think of any others, do. From what I can remember sdmcp is supposed to help by reducing the number of hooks to the system by running multiple programs that use hooks so I think WB should be updated to support it.

My father, and mother have both worked in correctional facilities for a long time and the saying, I've heard is that the prisoners are there as punishment, not for punishment. Which is said to people who think the prisoners there aren't getting enough punishment while being there. I agree that it is kind of unwise at this point to get rid of the prisons because there are people out there who unrepentently do bad things and would continue to do them un

Here''s what I think. I think it is out of hand to call someone who uses a PC a lemming because they chose to use one instead of a Mac and not nessasarily true. Same goes for someone thinking that because someone chose a Mac that means they are a stuck up snob. There are a lot of PC users who got their PCs not because others did but because that''s what they wanted to buy. And I know Mac users who don''''t think they are better than everyone else and don''''t bash their choice over other peoples

Even so with memory WB taking 20mb if it even ever did is ancient history. It now takes for example with a skin I have made, 1.3mb. If you can''''''''t afford that then your just hurting for a memory upgrade, seriously. BTW, out of curiousity how much memory do typical visual styles and themes service take? Since the themes serices hasn''''t been optimized lately if at all I would imagine it has to b

The default itunes icon does include a 128x128 icon. I guess Objectdock doesn't get the largest size out of a program? Y'z Dock does... =p

I noticed on my system that any program that you want to tile has to be run after tiles is enabled which includes explorer. It's just too bad transparent parts in the windows can't be transparent in the tiles.

I myself like how The GIMP has seperate windows rather than being in an MDI window. It makes it more like the mac version of PS. Although if PS got an option to put a full screen MDI with a transparent (to the desktop) background that is objectbar compatible I wouldn't complain. One other reason why I like The GIMP is it's bezier selection tool. It's like the lasso, except you can adjust the curve

"Well, there are plenty of them as window skinning, icon themes, fully custom desktops etc. for which a Windows user has to use third party software. that´s what you´re doing with your company, don´t you" Yes, there are plenty of icons and themes. However, all software on Linux is third party because as a whole Linux isn't developed by one company. And no, the distro companies don't count. Linux is just a kernel so as soon as you add anything, you are using third party software. It's la

It's just too easy to look at the animations in the longhorn videos and think windowfx. But it'll be different in longhorn. From what I have read MS is replacing GDI and GDI+ with their new 3d interface so windows will be made from the ground up 3d. WindowfX only has the windows as 3d objects when they are being animated and it runs on top of the normal GDI and GDI+. As a result in longhorn you can be animating and interacting with applications at the same time, and have t
