I think Ceres maps only come up about 1 in every 4 games which isn't too often. The variety is good as it keeps you on your toes (which is one of the best things about this game). The main thing to be aware of on Ceres is that onworld prices will get very high in the late game so Ceres favours having more onworld claims, getting optimisation labs earlier (ideally at least 2) and often avoiding getting an offworld market entirely

Hey again Edwin. To answer your questions: 1) re:auction bidding. You can't say "debt doesn't matter at all" as it certainly does, it just has less value than cash. Exactly how the cash to debt relationship works actually changes during each game and has a lot of factors. In general, cash is much more valuable than debt early in a game , and particularly when resource prices are low (as it's harder to make cash by selling resources).

Also when deciding on a refining building like glass furnaces, don't forget to incorporate the raw resource inputs it will need. If you happen to have 600silicon stockpiled and the silicon price is currently $200 with a glass price of $200, the profit calculator will tell you that building a glass furnace will give you negative profit, however this isn't true. The way to think about it, is if you hypothetically sold out of all your silicon, it would alter the market price to t

Hold control, and the buy button will turn into a sell button. You can also autosell resources by holding control and shift and a little minus button appears next to them. This is extremely important, as it means you can set your most profitable resources to "autosell" into cash, which makes sure that you get maximum profits for them, before your competitors can bring the price down. It is also the preferred method to sell life support resources (ie water, food, oxygen), as i
#2 has a couple of points: *a It sounds like there are two concerns -- maximizing your profit and preventing a buyout by increasing your share price. (I was really disappointed that I don't get the cash when someone buys my own stock from me.) *b I would look at daily % returns on three things, and compare against the highest rate X: (When I played, I noticed I was paying 30% interest/day.) *

Hey Edwin. I'll try to answer some of your questions briefly, although I have to point out that the hypothetical situation you've made with no competitors and no black market would completely defeat the purpose of the game as you won't have any objectives (usually your objective is to make the most money so you can buy out your competitors before they buy you out) 1 a) it is essentially equal to autosell resources then buy other resources on the market for the sam

Part of the challenge of winning high levels games is riding the fine line between too much and too little debt.most top level players will focus almost entirely on maximising cash (and hence upgrades) until at least HQ level 3, and often HQ level 4. This often means they ignore power (as generating power only pays off debt, with no cash income unless you are debt free). Around HQ level 3 power prices then often start going crazy and the timing to switch into making power (and how much ) is a

Wow, the new campaign looks really nice. A few suggestions: 1) I couldn't find where to change the difficulty for the campaign. Is this an option? If so it might need to be more obvious 2) Unable to save multiple campaign attempts (someone's mentioned this before but worth repeating as it is pretty important) 3) Occasionally when you beat a campaign level it comes up with the message "your lawyer has discovered a new patent" or something along those l

Cool events for mules: "Dogs in space!!!?" - when you play your first mule "Who let the dogs out?" - play 100 mules Unusual events for mules: "Get your ass off my property" - when you claim a tile currently being worked by an opponents mule. (is it even possible to do that, I've never tried) "Well-balance diet" - use mules to mine 5 different resources in a
One change that maybe warranted is to make a majority buyout have 6 stocks owned by the aggressor, not total of 6.
I agree with kingmorgans point. I wonder if there's any way to make it that majority buyout only works if at least one aggressor owns more shares than the defender.

I think the current system works well for 3 or 4 player games, but becomes increasingly unfair the more players are in an FFA. In the extreme case of an 8 player game, the current mechanics certainly make it to way too easy to eliminate the strongest player early on (ie at HQ level 3 or 4), by everyone else just buying one share in the leading player to reach a majority buyout. What might be fairer is if the cooldown time to purchase someone else's stock increased in proporti
In light of concerns I am with not completely revamping the game carelessly but what about just adding a mode that incorporates my outstanding debt idea that doesn't alow stock purchases or upgrades while interest is owed? Then let people play both ways. It would not be hard to create this change.
I think Mike has a good point This game is totally awesome if its current state (and keeps getting b
