I was surprised that the in game clock was on martian time when i found that during my data collection, equally surprised this isn't as commonly known. but really you wouldn't really notice unless you were looking specifically at it during this time, and even then I first assumed it was a bug.

Might as well just stop. Ill post a new thread with the newer prototype. Ill just make the visualization and let the data speak for itself, arguing over something doesn't prove it.
I agree on that point, I do think if any games were to be looked at, finding the best match up of players is beneficial. and if no proper sample can be reached, then looking at top games again is most beneficial. I will say on this point " Drawing general conclusions is beyond unrealistic due to the very nature of OTC. Regardless of sample size or its 'quality'. " That given enough data it
[quote who="InSyncOTC" reply="26" id="3594230"] Quoting KCIV, reply 25 I really think the finals are a better study of what DBO is/does. The finals have assumed better skilled players or at least players better in line with the DBO mechanics. Well, that's the thing. Nothing is a better study of

[quote who="InSyncOTC" reply="24" id="3594131"] No idea why I have this weird urge to play devil's advocate, but I just do... In that particular game, Wino, you weren't in the lead at the point of the purchase. Stock situation was a bit deceiving, While you only needed 400k for the buy, Cubit already had 750k in cash. With destroy buyout or without it he had an advantage. That was a typical 3-way contest (Nate was out of it, unfortunately), and in those the first one to blink usu
[quote who="GalacticWino" reply="22" id="3594012"] Hence Mark Twain's famous quote about statistics... "lies, damn lies, and statistics". As these longer DB games are showing, debt is another important long term factor. A player with large debt does not have same buyout purchasing power as another player with the same cash on hand but no debt. In that game, I also owned a lot of other player's stock, which could have been sold off at any time. Thus, m
If you mean this game the first one cubit wins http://puu.sh/kvzyx/6d9572298f.png then I think you are making an assumption that is incorrect :/ I could be incorrect on what game you are talking about, but this data clearly shows Wino was not in the lead. this is the key issue with DBO, The only metrics given to players are disingenuous to the lead they may have.&nbs
Anyone have links to this? I seemed to have sadly missed them :(
IDK maybe some facts should be up in here. lol
Well said, I am starting to think this as well. Having (for example) 3 extremely simple but clear graphs on unique aspects of the game would be great to toggle between them, IE (cash+resource, Stocks, Debt) and such. Good feedback :) of course the single graph the dream can't be given up XD if only this was a 1v1 game, It would be so much easier to graph it XD I'm gunna give the stoc
http://puu.sh/kB9F2/23caf6a376.png This is the Cubit win number 2. Finally software fixed its bug! So here we see an issue, The game ended with a double buy out from cubit, We can clearly see his economy growing much higher than the others. But because he had been buying up stock He didn't need to have economy larger than the stock value. This is where a St
This is amazing XD
Eff is simply total resources (cash + resources) / structures. Its nothing more than to show how much you are generating when you expand or build structures (mostly around rotation of buildings and such) not sure if its going to stay, but that is what it is. as for the equation, Simply put I can't calculate that, All the data I have is collected by hand so I gather "snap shots" every X time and then hand copy the data out of the game.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I CAN FINALLY POST AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :))))) I have a response for you Wino :) (gotta type it up) and then also an update! :)

Alright So, I have a few updates for you :) on at least 1 of your games Wino http://puu.sh/kvzyx/6d9572298f.png here is your game 1, There are actually a few issues with this so here is a "more accurate" version http://puu.sh/kvArY/288a75cd79.png the top graphic is your efficiency the bar'
First off thank you so much soren for those replays! Here is a export from cubit win game 1, (day 2) http://puu.sh/kvzyx/6d9572298f.png here is a more accurate version http://puu.sh/kvArY/288a75cd79.png
This is why im running data :) I dont think your economy was not as far ahead as you felt it was. Dbo is risk reward. Its not just +1 to victory. I think soren tweaking of stock prices correctly addresses some of that issue. But I feel the real issue is dbo is not the same as normal buyouy. You cant play them the same. And data I am seeing is showing more second and third player economies making the first purchase. Which would result in a faste
So here is where I run into issues. This game is so complex, its gets very complicated very quickly. Showing your income resource, Doesn't show your purchase power right? That is where stock matters. You can have 500k income a second, but if your enemies stock is 5x that the value of yours then his economy of 100k is of the same value as yours. (bad example but you can see what I mean) Here is an example of a
Anyway you can send them to me that doesn't require me to subscribe to anything sketchy ;) typically dropbox works best and easiest.
Anyone with replays please send them my way, I'm compiling data from these games! my steam http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198018232857/
+1 I agree its not SUPER important, but it would be awesome to have as well! I would also be a big fan of a CSV export of a match as well ;) Pretty much just a "tool tip data export" every in game hour or something would be very awesome to have! :) with added columns for say shortages, surplus, or tech buildings, black market purchases and such. just a tiny wishlist XD
[quote who="duelking2000" reply="21" id="3592226"] I am definitely not against the idea of more and more stat analysis, I'm just making it known that corewin, to me, was a compelte and utter non-factor. Even if he was at 80% of me I would decide not to buy him because I knew my economy woudl be just so much better and he'd never hit that 100%. You can clearly see it in the first 2 games where I was in the front seat I would ignore corewin entirely because he was a non-factor. Onc
