Why bother buying tokens when you can simply buy the games outright? When you pay about $70 for 10 tokens, you are actually recieving a discount. Each token is worth $10. This is a great deal if you plan on buying other Stardock games or expansions.

I have noticed a minor glitch with troop transports-- they were "naked" in the combat viewer. Obviously it did not affect the game play, but there were no attachments, simply the empty hull.

Yes, you definately want to buy sometime and make friends. Give them some small worlds maybe some money to buy peace. Then develop some fast lightly armed ships, it does not matter what weapon you use, but have at least one and a few engines. Use these to intercept unprotected transport fleets incase war breaks out again. If war does not break out, simply start building up your main assault fleet again.

Like space cow said, if they have lots of mass driver weapons, make sure your designs have armor to defend against them. If speed is not an issue, skimp on the engines a bit, just enough to move the ships into defensible positions around planets. Focus on a weapon for which your enemy does not have any or very good defense for. In this case, if you have focused on missles and your enemy has high anti-missle tech but no armor or shields, you might focus on mass drivers or beam weapon

You will need some patience if you have never done any 3-D modeling. You should Google "Blender3d tutorials". Aside from that the PDF manual is very helpful. Blender was the first 3-D tool I had ever used, largely because it was free and I needed 3-D modeling for my Masters Thesis project. I love it, though I have not had time to play with the latest versions. The interface, though greatly improved in newer versions, took some time to get a handle on. There are settings in the option menu to turn the combat visuals on or off based on the groupings of ships. The groupings would be something like: single vs single, single vs fleet and fleet vs fleet, I think. I am at work and can not confirm.

Sounds like you are expanding too quickly. Also, perhaps you set your tax rate too high? If your approval rating drops too low population starts dropping with each turn. Try to keep the approval rating in the green for the begining of the game by keeping the tax rate low. Just a guess.

From what I have read on these forums, the game uses no copy protection. You will not be able to download updates or extra content with out a valid serial number however.

If you only need to change the name of the file and not the file type, simply leave the extension alone when renaming. My guess from what I read in your post is that you have something like this: mypicture.jpg and when you rename, you are altering the extension (meaning the three letters to the right of the dot). Ah, Yarlen beat me to it... In any case I have had GREAT success with the Microsoft Anti-Spyware beta. I recently used it on my Dad's and a freinds computer. Both were over run with spyware (contant pop-ups for porn in any website, browser hijacks, etc...). The MS Anti-Spyware beta cleaned them both and prevented several hijack attempts during the process. It detected some spyware that SP
