In Galciv I the Draginol event made a new minor race appear with VERY powerful ships. It always said you had to take them out soon or they would eventually take over the galaxy.

The hull is a Huge Terran one. The second on the list. It took about 45 min to get all the pieces in place.
Props to you BlueDev recommending "Hoversnap". It's really cool!
To Citizen valhala130: These shots were taken from the game map, zoomed in tight. The colors were chosen on the game setup screen, my primary color is the silver/gray my trim color is black. Engine color is fluorescent green.
I'm working right now so I don't have access to my game....but I think the cost is around 450 bc.
Here are some of my Lambda-class missile boats.
Sorry, my first attempt at posting an image on a forum (I know, I should know this stuff). Should have made them smaller.
They should be visible now.
I hope this works. This one took awhile but I think I came close to a classic Star Destroyer design. It's since been upgraded with a Harpoon missile launcher near the nose. This should be front view. <img src="http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/1605/stardestroyer018rc.jpg" bo
I've created IMO almost the perfect Star Destroyer....but I can't figure out how to post the pic on the forums!!!!! My computer knowledge only extends so far.......
Can someone tell me? Thanks
This might sound stupid but how do you post images like this? Thanks
Another thread got me thinking about this. GC2 needs some kind of terrain / obstacles on the map...which is difficult since, well, it's in space! But there are things that can be obstacles in space....like asteroid fields (remember Empire Strikes Back?). They could act as natural fortifications subjecting ships that try to traverse them to damge or even risk of destruction. There could also be blackholes and supernovae which could make the sector they are in dangerous to enter, again the ris
Cool, I was wondering why this option didn't carry over from GCI. Didn't fret about it too much since I have so many other options to consider.
I agree. There should be asteriod fields ("They'd be crazy to follow us"- Han Solo), blackholes and supernovas (will damage nearby ships), nebulas (would obscure sensors), and comets (potential of hitting a planet and destroying all life). Things like this I think would add a LOT to this game, it would take the startegy up yet another notch.
I made a feeble attempt to locate the game last Tuesday in stores (Walmart, BB, EB, GameStop) with no luck. I wasn't surprised so I did the download option; I have to say I was more than impressed at the ease and speed at which I was able to get the game. I wish more companies would offer this type of service....it's almost TOO convienent. Thanks for the awesome game and I look forward to many hours of great gameplay! Galactic Civilizations was a diamond in the rough.....Galactic C
Everything sounds great. I was wondering though about scanning modules for starbases. I thought I read that after the last patch they would be availbable for install on all types of starbases; so far I can only install them on military bases. It'd be nice to be able to put them on all bases, since they all can install every kind of defense already it would make sense if they could install the most advanced senors available.
I put it in my Aerospce Interstellar Museum for future generations to marvel at.
1.Stellar Cartography lets you see planets on the mini-map. 2. I think they just add influence to their surrounding area, planet or no planet. I use them to help keep borders intact. 3. When threatening someone look at the overall military rating. It doesn't really matter how many ships you have as long as they are more powerful than your opponent. If you have a rating of 250 and they have a rating of 50, they'll probably be very polite. If you both are close in rating
Thanks stranger, that's good to know.
i wonder if technology effects ship trading/donations/selling. Like if you try to give a warp capable ship to a civ that hasn't discovered warp drive.....can they use that ship? Or if you sell a ship with lasers and shields to a civ that uses missile weapons and hasn't studied beam wepons, is this ship useless to them? If I remember correctly in Gal Civ I when you transferred ships to weaker civs the ships would lose some of their capabilities because the weaker civ was behind techn
I think the topic line says it all.... Can someone tell me please? I'd like to take some shots of my ship designs.
Well I haven't exactly chose an alignment yet while playing GalCivII but having played the first one a lot I know how the system works. Probably the most important factor in determining your civ's alignment is the choices you make when you are faced with one of the random "ethical" decisions, for example when colonizing planet "X" you encounter aliens there and the machine gives you three choices for dealing with them. One choice is good, one neutral, and one evil. If you choose the good choi
