If so , how? "It is not only possible, it is essential!". Dr. Strangelove

I've only gifted ships once so far and it seemed to work but I moved all the ships into the recipients territory.
The bonus (from mining the resource) is for the whole empire. You should be able to see the effects on the stats/graphs screen in the Civilization Manager. Economic, Military, and influence bases have only local effects.

One thing that can help is taking the +50% research attribute along with being a Federalist. That way you get a good boost to both research and economy.
Here's an attempt at a Bird of Prey, didn't really turn out though. Here's a real capital ship. The game was still young so it wasn't as powerful as it would be.
There are many camera and speed options on the battle screen, including a "free cam" mode that allows for total control of angle and zoom.
Yeah, you have to configure the battles. Make sure you have it set to show all, including the fleet options.
-A- I haven't played Civ IV in about a month. Now that I have GCII it will probably be many months before I do.
I read that one too....ironic....after all the nitpicking he still gave it a 4 out of 5.
I think you can but they only have one hitpoint. So i wouldn't recommend it.
Definitely. Even though I've only had it 2 weeks I can say it's one of the best games I've played.
I have to say I find most of these posts hard to believe. I have not had a single CTD or any real problem and I've been playing it since day one. I must just be lucky.
Sounds like you've got this one beat...it's only a matter of time. I wouldn't worry too much about "light-blue" they're bound to run into a snag sometime which will give you a chance to consolidate your power.
Change the class name after you finish your alterations.
Nice colors and cool design, kind of reminds me of the Sulaco from "Aliens".
Download+CD purchase. I did it this way...it worked flawlessly, like Voqar said. I've been playing the game since the 21st and i got my CD Collector's Edition couple days ago in the mail.
The game is as hard as you want it to be. I can create a game where no matter what my starting position is I will dominate the entire game or I can make one that is extremely challenging.
I'd like to see some race specific components....in fact i was shocked when, after playing my first game as the Terrans, I started a new game as the Drath and there WASN'T any race specific ship parts. No biggie, it's just that when almost every other part of a game gives you just what you want you tend to get a little spoiled.
They should be talking about GCII over there because IMO it blows Civ IV away. Don't get me wrong I'm a Civ fan but I have to say overall Civ IV was a let down. It's a good game but it didn't keep my attention like Civ II and III did (or GCI). I think if more strategy gamers got to know GCII and Stardock they would abandon Civ IV, at least for awhile I'd like to hear what Sid Meier's opinion of GCII is.
Salute! Congratulations and I wish continued success! You guys deserve it! You created what I predict will be one of the best PC titles to come out this year, at the very least the best strategy title. To tell you the truth I was somewhat disappointed with Civilization IV (I had very high hopes but it turned out too buggy, not as fun as Civ previous titles), so GCII has saved strategy gaming for me this year. Keep up the good work!
The extra ship parts will appear in the "generic" extras in the shipyard. They'll be labeled "Special edition" content...or something like that. They're kind of hard to miss. If you downloaded and installed the file like you say they should be there.
I think cloaking was part of the defense line in the GCI tech tree, it would've been cool if they had found a way to put it in GCII. Like you said it could be used to limit opposing ships senors detection, to help with balance cloaking devices could be large and expensive making their use limited.
