I didn't originaly have problem with Galciv 1.05. The last couple of days though hour by hour/game by game the game keeps crashing to desktop. At first once every couple of hours, now it can crash after a couple of minutes. I don't know what it causing it or why it started doing it now. I haven't installed any new programs or anything. I even updated my graphics driver last night just in case that was the problem, nothing! I include the text from one of the crashes. Stardo

btw, I found how to re enable the game music. ~SDC~
Are you saying that if you choose to have extra luck you don't get as many random events? ~SDC~
My favourite tactic so far (I basicaly play on Med size with varying difficulty and scattered clusters and rare good planets, is to use the War Party plus various military bonuses. The 50+ hitpoints is great. WIth all these military bonuses I go usualy for a pacifist approach. I build just enough ships to have some good numbers for defense. Which together with the military bonuses work quite good from protectic my almost always small empire. When I feel like expanding much and bei
So is this something that might be fixed? As I see it you either have to micromanage more than necessary each of your ships or choose to lose most of the time another turn for something that you shouldn't have to. ~SDC~
I keep listening to combination of Anastacia, Eminem, Holst, Iron Maiden, 50cent, Roxette, Frank Sinatra, Tori Amos and Blues Brothers. Oh yeah, and Genesis. BTW, how can I enable the game music again? It keeps trying to play mp3s. ~SDC~ [Message Edited]
Thank you LanVik. ~SDC~
I think they are very important. I only built one starbase per colonized system, and that on orbit of the system because I believe that only the the system gets the bonuses. (I could be wrong). Also because it works as good defense against invading armies. Starbases provide many good things, increased culture and money. I do sense that there might be some imbalance if you built many of them, thats why I built only so few. Also for expansion (especialy when you play with ra
What is your tax rate? ~SDC~
I am having some problems with the built in player too now. I have used it for some time without any problems, and always did this: I have the game on E drive. I have the playlist saved on the root of E drive. (too lazy to type the location otherwise). What I do is when I want to listen to other songs I just overwrite the current one (save as, yes overwrite) and then the game when it starts it automaticaly loads the updated/new one withouth any problems. All that worked
I played some more and I can see a pattern, I don't know how to spell it but I can see it. Lets say you have ship(s) on auto to go somewhere and you have moved all your moves. You click end turn. The AI moves the ships around. Your ship doesnt move yet. Its your turn, the date hasn't changed and your auto ships haven't moved yet. The minute you move manualy your first ship then the date changes. That sucks! I don't know why it is happening like this though. Also, some times I mi
I like the idea of designing your ships. Nothing too complicated though. What I would like to see though is some change in how battles work. It feels like the only purpose is to build the biggest ship around, when you have the tech for that there is no reason (unless I guess you are pacifist and in dire need of money) to build smaller cheaper ships. Or did I miss something? ~SDC~
This is the second different game that this happens. Whenever I click on Tota Routes in the STATS tab of the foreign affairs the game crashes to desktop. Its almost a feature! :-) I don't know what it is supposed to happen when you click on that btw. I use the version 1.05.071 which is the latest that SC tells me that there is available. Its not realy a problem, I can easily not click on that. I am just reporting it. ~SDC~
I haven't given it detailed thought. Out of my mind I could say for the Theocracy give some boost to morale and/or increased soldiering? (fanatics and all) also perhaps reduced trade or diplomacy or something. For the Aetheists I could guess some increase in research and reduced morale or something. Or increased trade but less influence. I am sure it could work out with some extra thought. Its not so much for the actual numbers (stats) but for the ability to play as one o
Is there any plan or something for more parties in the future? My two wishes are for a Theocracy and for Aetheism parties. I am sure some people will like them and others. Whats your opinion? Me as I said before, I would love to see the above two. ~SDC~
I followed the last advice. I click end turn, a communication between me and another race pops up. I click ok, and the month is still the same! Is the End Turn system very confusing or is it just me? I will try more of the advices here later. FRUSTRATED! ~SDC~
Soooo, if I want it to be like a classic old school turn based game with nothing happening until I click End Turn and when I do it actualy ends the turn, what should I do? :notsure: ~SDC~
I am very confused about how the end turn thingy works. There are times when I click on end turn and the actual date doesnt seem to change, and other times when one of my ships is moving and suddently the date changes. I find it very very VERY confusing and it has managed to make me not feel like playing the game for a while now. Can someone help with either a suggestion or something? :notsure: ~SDC~
Wow! They are clearly very different to me, one is yellow the other is green. Perhaps something wrong with the hardware? BUT, I would still love to see option to change the colour of any race. ~SDC~
I bought the game a couple of days ago. I love it. I have two suggestions, and I don't know if anyone else has said them before, I admit I am too lazy to read all pages. 1) When the planet production is on the main screen, I would love to have a minimap somewhere showing to me where the planet is! If I don't want to rename the systems I find it very very difficult to remember where is this system and now what? 2) This is a bit more difficult but, I don't like much how the
