I have a sort of crazy idea to possibly get rid of the "founding location is everything problem. All companies must found their HQs within X hexes of the Colony. Everyone will be center, have no founding bonus in resources, now founding means almost nothing except fitting your hq in and the extra 10 or so Hexes when you are on the other side of the colony from a resource hex. Things would have to change like pirates would need to be kept away from the colony etc.

This happens only once in a while I start up the game, go to multiplayer, shows normal. If I go back to the main menu and then back into multiplayer, sometimes no interface shows up, its just the background and no way to back out. Forces me to Ctrl+Alt+Delete and force close the game. Haven't noticed in Beta 3, but the fact that you now have to select custom game may have changed something.

Agreed, I have played in a number of multiplayer games over the past week, but sometimes there is just no one around. In progress games with an uptime counter would be great, maybe even a player list with cash in hand values and stock prices. I would also encourage, if possible the creation of some sort of list of people looking at the server list if possible. Not sure what is easy, hard or impossible to do. Great fun when you actually get to play mp though, well o
