Have you tried click-dragging? Between that and jumping to where I want to go on the mini-map I don't even notice diagonal scrolling missing anymore. Tony

Does anyone know the last time a PC game got a 9.0 or better on Gamespot? Highest ranked recent games on Gamespot: Civ IV- 9.4 Battlefield 2- 9.3 Guild Wars- 9.2 F.E.A.R- 9.1 Grand Theft Auto, San Andreas- 9.0 Brothers in Arms, Road to Hill 30- 9.0
Wow, in the Tilt Category (reviewers personal slant), he gave it a 10! They also gave it an Editors Choice Award, and said it has that "something" extra that seperates a good game from a Hall of Famer. I'd have to agree. Tony
You guys that want to vote C are not going to win with your current tactics. You need to start trading some techs and cash for Influence Points. Maybe Stardock can put a vote into a future patch/update. Make it an in-game Galactic Council vote. lol I think I have been playing too much. . . . Tony
Personally, I really like Civ IV. For me it's the best one yet. I understand the Stardock guys and the Firaxis guys chat from time to time and enjoy each others' work. Tony
Congratulations, guys! You deserve it. One reason this copy protection plan (none) will probably work for this game is the anticipated updates and bonuses that will be released along the way. Folks will need to register to get the goodies. Unlike some developers, we know Stardock will actually release goodies down the road. Tony
It will start building whatever you had selected when you select done.
To verify your CE stuff, go to the shipyard/ship builder. Look under the "Extras" tab, and there should be some items all called "Special Structure". Their description will say they are CE items. Tony
One problem with a printed strategy guide for a game like this is the game is evolving and changing. Stats of ships or techs can change with updates. The mechanics of how things work may be changed over time through updates. What to write about is a moving target. Tony
Ah, but do they really know what you are up to, or do they only think they do? It would be hard to know what I am up to as I don't usually know myself. Tony
Manual, page 28. Basically, class determines the number of tile, but Planet Quality can give you a boost. Tony
It sounds like things are going ok. Yes, you can build starbases in other races territory, but they usually don't like it. I'm suprised no one else has built on the that resource yet as the AI tends build on them quickly. As you get upgraded factorys, markets and so on tech, your existing ones should get updated automatically. No need to replace them. Start wokin
The bonus pack adds a few maps, and doo-dads and so on to decorate custom ships with. Nothing to ge too excited about, but nice to have, non-the-less. Tony
Is there an updated manual? This is the first mention I have seen of one. Tony
Stardock only has the CE version in stock, so yes, if you order from them, that is what you will get. The Bonus Pack was to be just for pre-orders, but has not been incorporated into the basic patches. If you order the CD from Stardock, you can also download and start playing right away. Tony
Have you read the manual? Page 48. It states fleets will target the most lethal but easily destroyed ship first. Attack and defense rolls are based on the fleet's stats, and hit points are based on individual ships. In practice, it works pretty good. Tony
Just guessing, but perhaps it is a benefit of the "Creative" race trait? Tony
And seriously now: where are those devs? Uh, CariElf is a dev. Tony
Are you sure you are trying to modify your custom hull designs? It is my understanding that you can't change the "core" designs in the shipyard. That is correct, you can only update user designs. To do that, enter the shipyard, select the design you want to update, and click upgrade. Now you can add or deleate whatever you want (as long as y
Post your "debug" file from your GalCivII folder. Are your vid card drivers current? Tony
Started another new game - starbases now can be rebuilt fine. But suddenly 2 of my starports are stuck with 0 turns to go to produce a ship but wont finish them Is there room for anymore ships in orbit? Tony
There is a "Debug" file in your GalCiv folder. Post it along with any details about what you were doing, ie, I tried to save a new ship design, it crashed while processing a turn, whatever. Tony
This is my first CTD with the 008 patch, having played for around 12 hours on it. Just passing on the debug info in case it is of use. I got it after pressing the Turn button. I like you ideas, but there are some workarounds you can use till when/if your suggestions are every implemented. You can start the Battle of Gods Scenario and have all techs available right away. You can then create and save designs for other games. You can already save the base blinged hulls as you suggest. Call the prototype something like Frigate I, or Frigate Prototype or whatever, then when you add weapons and so on in the game, call them Frigate Ia or whatever.<br/
