I changed the Game Mod option to Reference but didn't save it. I then changed it back to None. I then changed other settings and hit save. My version then got messed up and I was unable to see or join my friend's games. An uninstall via steam was not enough. I had to delete all references to *OffWorld on my C drive. My Documents/My Games/Offworld/ was a folder that I deleted. I then reinstalled and everything worked.
