I appreciate the continued feedback. More data can help find all the problems and hopefully lead to a better solution. Thanks for the update Zubas. Just letting you know we're seeing some changes at our end I presume you are also aware of the intermittant ObjectDock "closing" issue mentioned in the Wincustomise Docks forum (https://forums.wincustomize.com/?

Sydney, Australia started working for me a couple of days ago. The current temperatures and conditions appear to be about right, however the issue of the incorrect day noted by a couple of other users affects me also. For example, right now in Sydney (GMT+10) it is Friday 11th. The weather docklet flyout shows Today, Tomorrow, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. This basically means that "today" is Thursday making "tomorrow" today. My XP+SP2 laptop timezone is set correctly, so it
I'm another of those old OS/2 users (from OS/2 1.0 through Warp). I loved Object Desktop on OS/2 (still have the version 1.0 CD!, and the original Stardock teeshirt I "imported" only just wore out a couple of years ago The Control Centre was magic and I still use the Tab Launchpad!! Like Carlton Wyatt I miss the object-oreintation in OS/2 - Windows short
Hi bussie, you can find them for the current user in the registry under: \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\BandVWM and the "global" setting in: \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stardock\ObjectDesktop\BandVWM As usual, take care when editing the registry... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/icons/wc.gif" border=0 alt="Posted via WinCustomize Browser/Stardo
Hi "do not use this name". I'm afraid I couldn't reproduce it on my laptop that way. I've been using build e all day and haven't had a window disappear yet but that doesn't mean anything as I can go for days without it happening. How fast is your PCs CPU - maybe it's related to hardware? Posted in Link as well. <img src="
From Link #41 by do not use this name Thu, September 29, 2005 10:32 PM I have installed the newest build (1.99e) and it seems more robust to losing applications from virtual desktops. However, they still do disappear. Try this: make 4 desktops and put outlook, solitare, firefox and object edit on one each. Now switch back and forth among the desktops.

Build should be up within the day day or so. Yeah!! Just installed build e. So far so good, I'm rock'n'roll'n again! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/
does this still happen in that "mode 2"? I've always used mode 1 so I cannot say at the moment (and I wont be able to test it until the new version of SVD gets posted Some more observations - from memory. I ru
Folks, Thought I'd start that new thread on this subject. Here is a summary of posts from the other 2 around SVD 1.99d(rc).002 problems. Problem: programs disappear when I switch from one desktop to another. I can't get them back (retrieve all windows doesn't do the job, tabbing doesn't do the job). The programs a
You are not the only one sweating on it Mark. It's 6am in the morning here in Australia and I what's the first thing I do? - fire up SDC hoping to see a new version had been posted overnight while I was having nightmares about rampant windows all over my one desktop... Cheers, Kent <img src="http://images
Phew, that's good news (about the new build, that is!) It sure is a pain not having multiple desktops. Thanks for the quick reply - I'll go back to do what I should be doing now .
Hi Jeff, I've just come across what appears to be another bug with this version (or the perhaps the result of trying to get it going with more than 3 desktops). After a reboot this morning SVD now wont run and pops up an "expired shareware" notice. I have current OD Network subscription and most definitely shouldn't be seeing this. Back to no SVD Cheer
Yes, that is a problem I encounter to. It typically happens when I switch away from (or switch to) a desktop that has a "busy" application running (typically something that is connecting to a network resource - MS Outlook and Lotus Notes tend to do this to me.) "Retrieve all windows" will not get it back - the only way is to kill the missing app from the task manager and restart it. This has happened on all versions of SVD that I've used. On the ol
Hi Jeff, thanks for getting back to us on this. Is there a better way for us to notify you of any problems with future builds, or is this discussion board the best place? Cheers, Kent.
Looks like I got lucky and I'm not going to risk it by experimenting at the moment ! The reply count is getting up into the "noticable" range now! Com'n Stardock - how about a little bit of support? What's the point of a beta program if the feedback isn't gathered and reported problems worked through? This not really the place for us to go into detailed a
Hmmm, the redraw/refresh problem doesn't really sound like SVD induced behaviour to me - are you running something else like WindowsBlinds? That has cause me problems in the past on lower spec laptops with small amounts of RAM. As for freezing - running the MS Antispyware beta with active monitoring enabled will cause a longish delay in switching between desktops. I'd be looking for something else along those lines possibly interacting wit
Agreed! I actually emailed support in an effor to get some sort of response from Stardock (I don't often ask for help, as I can fix most things myself). From past observation updates to SVD are fairly infrequesnt and I'd hate this one to hang around unresolved. That said I've usually had good support form Stardock (one reason I've kept my OD subscription going for years now.) Mayeb there's been a backlog to get through after the weekend (a
Did you do a full uninstall of SVD? Just unloading the toolbar and deleteing the key is not enough... After the unistall and a reboot also check that the registery key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stardock\ObjectDesktop\BandVWM ("global setting") is gone (was for me). If not, delete it AND the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\BandVWM ("personal settings"). Might be worth rebooting again at this stage just to make sure that SVD is re
Good news - I've found a solution (for me at least) I watched what SVD is doing in the registery(HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\BandVWM) and it appears to be ignoring the value in numDesktops DWORD- if it exists and has any value other than 3 it changes it back to 3 when exiting. If I manually change the value when SVD is unloaded (toolbar not enab
I've used it as Virtual Desktop Manager, BandVWM, in the old Object Bar and way back in the day in Control Center (seems like eons ago Like you I've used VD in all it's incantations (including on OS/2 way back when!) and it's the first thing I load on any new PC I get. I'm lost without it (typically
You should end up with a list of 20-30 components when you get registered correctly - you've probably only been seeing "free" stuff. It's worth using OE - the syntax highlighting is very handy (and the ability to create your own "syntax styles". Only thing I hate is the printing support is weird - doulble spaced lines; prints even when you click cancel; so just watch out for that. Good luck! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/
Some components only show if "show pre-release (beta) versions is checked e.g. Stardock Virtual Desktops. That said, the OE "released" version that shows up in my SDC is 1.67.007. What version of SDC are you using? Mine is 2.10.343 build 95. On Windows XP?
You haven't got it hidden in Stardock Central by any chance? Check SDC View, Show/Hide Applications... Current beta release candidate 1.69a.002 is available right now.
Does anyone one else have this problem with the latest beta? Have done an uninstall/reboot etc. 3 desktops is better than only one, but is not really enough! Windows XP Pro + SP2 + latest hotfixes. Cheers, Kent
