Not to mention that while your stock is depressed due to debt, i can buy a few thousand shares of you, then sell them back when you get back on your feet, and make a little extra cash from it. In a sense, you make yourself a financial derivative!

How does this rule change affect colony types that modify the benefits of deposits that their colony starts on?
Oh, one thing, HUGE CURSOR IS HUGE. :)
Cool. Tried it out this afternoon on my MacBook Pro which runs a 2.3 GHz i5 and 16 GB of 1333 MHz DDR3 memory, and there's a bit of chug to it, but surely this isn't optimized yet and it's just going to play better and better as we get closer. Also noticed there are now options to turn off auto-sell of power, and to turn it on for other commodities - since you can't store power without the Energy Storage patent, I assume this is for people who would rath
Is this a thing that is actually playable yet? Was trying to load it earlier but to no avail.
When you buy your own stock, you're increasing the amount of money an opponent needs to buy you out. Once all of your shares are purchased, their price effectively doubles (moreso, if you consider that the price goes up throughout the game and each time shares are bought). Buying your own stock for X forces an opponent to eventually earn at least twice that amount. If I buy one block of shares for $1000, then an opponent must pay at least $2000 for them, but much likely a lot more because
Expansive : You get more colony hexes and more claims than any other colony type, which you'll need to secure the water that will provide all your necessities. Buildings cost 50% less Steel, which reduces your need for Iron compared to the others (except Scavenger). Use your gigantic footprint to grab either multiple water deposits or aluminum/silicon that can trickle in just fast enough to match your growth rate. Robotic : You won't need a lot
In showing off the game to a few people at a LAN party I attended this weekend, one of them wondered about the possibility of adding events or entities to the experience that are largely not instigated by players. We already have shortages, surpluses, and the occasional storms and earthquakes which strictly affect market prices, but in thinking back to MULE I'm wondering if there's the possibility of adding creatures or meterological events that are visible and can be reacted to
I noticed there was a graphics asset update recently what with the main menu being moved to the left side of the screen (leaving an empty orbital view taking up most of the window width), but in particular it looks like (to me and my system, anyway) the Campaign screen has some color/font issues. In some cases the font colors were blending in with the translucent backgrounds, or were solid black and difficult to read. In other cases the font didn't appear to show up at all, making the lis
So I've handed out all my extra keys to others on staff for MomoCon (an anime/gaming/comics convention in Atlanta, of which I am a Senior Director of Gaming) and we've been enjoying things thoroughly. Games start out quiet as people plan and then get loud and obnoxious with every Black Market use and dumping of stockpiles. Managed to get everyone to give their thoughts and questions and address them with the group and the devs for great justice: QUESTIONS
Yayyyyy! You da bess. Apologies if I've come off too naggy over it. I just introduced 3 new people to the game last night and we had a blast. Also enjoying the changes a great deal.
+1 on this. I'm excited to see the interface and graphics get some much needed love (I even notice the sounds the buildings make when you zoom in!), and it'd be helpful to know what gets changed with each update.
Any update on getting the forum access reconciled?
Thanks. However, my concern is more towards the fact that there appear to be news announcements made on that forum that I would assume are applicable to anyone who owns the prototype (new version released, planned MP events). In that case, I'd guess that just means those announcements need to be made in another place where all prototype owners can read, or hide the subforum entirely so those that cannot read it don't even notice it.
Can we get a yes or no on this? Still wondering why we can't access Founder Feedback.
Just checking if this is an actual thing that needs to be corrected, or if I'm not allowed in the Founder Feedback forum itself. (I imagine since there are news posts being put there, I ought to be able to view them.)
When creating a MP game we have the option to create a log. I see this file once I'm done playing and it looks largely in binary save for a few strings here and there. Is there a benefit that can be learned from sending these to the devs, or is something like that done automatically already?
Your comment about how you have been playing semi-coop makes me wonder if we should have a specific game mode where humans are not allowed to buy shares in each other until the AIs are all bought out. Do you think it would be better if the game just ends when the last AI is bought out and the highest stock price wins, or should the humans still have to buy each other out?
I think there would definitely be interest in a generic
Hey guys/ladies. Sup. [e digicons]^_^[/e] Been playing this game for about a week and loving the hell out of it, especially when I play with friends and we "temp team-up" against the AI and then turn on each other in an epic battle of maxing production and making the loud cashbag sounds from SHIFT-selling. Figured it was time to get some of my thoughts out on "paper" and see what the devs thought. Since I can't access the "Founders Feedback" subforum yet (see Suppor
Ah, think I narrowed it down - I'm blocked from the "Founders Feedback" forum specifically. Wondering if that has to be manually configured for Upgrade users.
Not sure what the culprit is but there are a few threads on this forum that throw an access error when I try to view them. I am suspecting it is only ones listed under "Offworld Trading Company" and not one of its subcategories.
