I haven't used someone else's mod before, but in the GalCiv2Ultimate/Mods folder there should be 2 folders called Default Example Inside each of these is a file called ModDescription, an XML file (shown as a text file on my laptop, as I have opened alot of game files with notepad). From my experience to create your own mod, you need to copy and paste this file into your folder, or the mod won't appear on the list of available mods. Dear All, I thought I would post this to help others like me who may be struggling to modify the vanilla game (races etc...). I have spent time on this forum and reading the mod guides looking for a solution, but couldn't find one. If someone has posted this info here already I couldn't find it sorry. Everytime I made a change to the core data files in notepad, I would start the game and always found that data from the vanilla game was still there - like it was hard-coded and unmoddab
