Will we, if not in 2.5 but in a future version, be able to reverse the order I see in the images - that is, can the start button be at the bottom and so forth, instead of at the top when using side-aligned task bar?

To make a very long story short - the issue was my monitor. Change a setting a while back meant every time is woke up, it was basically, temporarily reported 1/4 size to windows/software and then will correct itself. Display Port mode was the issues - going from 1.1 to 1.2 causes this on this model, and going back to 1.1 fixes it. I can now confirm that "Let Start11 Enhance The Taskbar" is the culprit - I disabled that, and poof, problem gone. Should I copy paste a lot of this into a new Start11 v2 forum thread or the Start11 issues thread? PS - In any case, some apps ignore FX (start11 config app doesnt care about it), and others (office apps) will only ignore it if you hit a windows minimize button but they wont ignore if you minimize them from the taskbar (then they FX just fine).

Well, I guess I have to remake this thread in the Star11 v2 forums. I think the "ahh it must be FX" is because of turned on Enhanced Taskbar in Start11 on the same day (after having had Start 11 installed otherwise for a few days without changing any taskbar setting). Correct, Star11 does, but FX interacts with Explorer in other ways, and Explorer includes, as I am sure you know, the start menu and taskbar and everything associated with those things. Lag Explorer, lag everything else. Whatever the cause - be it your software, or how it interacts with something else (as in, it's the other thing's fault), I hope we can find a fix. Ok, well today it was different, the desktop was normal sized, but the taskbar was half width (the blur and all that went across the entire screen, but the start button to the clock was only half width instead of the width of the screen). I am afraid I am going to have to back track on saying the Windows Explorer thing was just OneDrive, as when I went into Task manager this time, the extra Windows Explorer prosses was 12gigs! Yes, either it happens on its own a little while after I log back in and am greeting by the mini desktop, but I can force it by restarting Windows Explorer using that option in Task Manager - then the desktop is normal, full sized, and without lag.

Apologies but disregard the bit about an extra Windows Explorer process with high ram usage - I forgot that was OneDrive based. The lag otherwise and what I said is true (I think Windows Explorer restarting itself just happened to also crash or temporarily push down OneDrive, or something like that).

Search is still below the baseline standard of default Windows search in the ways pointed out in previous report threads and that issue I mentioned in the last two threads about UAC prompts on the taskbar being unclickable and an alt-tab being required persists.
I have that text in search bar bug, the last version was my first version (since some other computer back in the Windows 8 days). my two issues remain - the UAC one where prompts sent to the taskbar cannot be clicked, nor can anything else on the taskbar, until you alt-tab to the prompt and accept/deny it AS WELL AS the one where bringing up the default Start menu via the optional icon pinned to Start11 Start and then clicking the windows button causes the Start11 menu to attempt to come up, but it just spazes out for a while as you click, eventually the default start will slide down and the Start11 menu will come up.</
Also wanted to point out that if you have the Windows Start Menu pinned in the Start11 Start Menu, and you open that up but then move your mouse down to the Start Button, and click it a few times - you can frequently have the Start11 Start Menu bugging out behind the Windows one. (attempting to animate up into existence and then flashing away, over and over again). BTW - this issue and the other one (UCA one) both exist on upgrades but also now fresh installs.
Correct - because the entire issue is around UAC behavior. So, no UAC means no issue. I like keeping UAC maxed though, but even if I turn it down to the more reasonable Default (3 out of 4) setting, all that will do it remove the easiest way of getting this problem to pop up (which is good for testing).

If you go into the task manager, you will still see it running after you close it down from full screen mode - close it from there too, and when you reopen it, it will open in a in a window and continue to do so for some time (probably while it remains cached). After a while, it will go full screen again and you have to repeat the process. Hope this helps!
