Well not EVERYONE assumes, and indeed all the ones that have reply the post are asking legit question to find out exactly what is the user's problem and what is he reffering to. neptune s When you create an account you are given a certain amount of mb to download (50MB) Once you reach this amount you will not be able to download anymore. In order to get unlimited download you will need to purchase either a WinCustomize subscription (2 years worth) or any of the Stardock products

You are right Koasati. After the change on wallpapers moderation, the wallpapers were compleately blocked from showing on the list. A few weeks back they started to show again. I was thinking it had to do with the upgrades to the site prior to the release of WC4

I might be wrong about this, but I think the New Addition list is setup to display a certain amount of Wallpapers in order to prevent the list from been over-floaded with just wallpaper designs. There is nothing wrong with your uploads

It is very simple Mrs Chickie. -Duplicate one of the default skin folders in Rainlendar (or any skin folder, it doesnt matter since everything will be change) -Change the duplicate folder's name to the name you're gonna give to your skin. -Create a Background image for the calendar (Not too big, look at other rainies for refference) -Load the 'new' skin to your rainlendar. (it's gonna display the copy skin since no changes have been made yet) -Right click on Rainlendar and fr

As more premium skins come in to existence, so will piracy of those skins. And as this piracy becomes more widespread, skins authors will feel the need to charge more and make less free content. This is exactly the mentality and actions that create this widespread problem. Piracy exists only because there are people that refuse to compensate

Comparing computer software to a car is just flat out idiotic. Idiotic is to assume that just because you purchase something, everything that comes with that or is used by it MUST be free. Whether is a car, a game platform, a PC, a Barbie doll, etc. all the extras has to be purchased. The fact that all authors here have share their hard

Personally I think all skins should be free, people have to pay for the software to use the skins so why ask them to spend more. If someone buys a car, gas and maintenance should be free right? This is not about wiping out or replacing the already amount of free skins shared by the authors for premium skins, this is about giving the opp

Good point EH. This is a clear case of "Why buy the cow if you can get the milk for free" I too am amazed at the numbers on the 'Skins should always be free' answer. These are obviously the group of people that have no consideration for the time and effort put into making these skins. Not to mention the money spent on graphic programs and I'm willing to bet that most of those that voted have no design skills nor have the sligthest clue of what is involved on the creation of a skin.

Oh jeezs. OC had to make this post and stir me into looking at the content of my imitation leather wallet > Ok, this is what I found License, Credit cards, dental card, Social Security, Blockbuster card, a couple of business cards from people I don’t even know. Pictures of my family, my girl, a 2 dollar bill, a few business cards from my job, and a couple of receipts (toll booth, gas station, McDo

I dont want to sound too old (cause I'm not) but my first vinyl was a 78 RPM by a band called Los Angeles Negros. My first 12" vinyl LP was ABBA. My first CD was Eagels - Hotel California. I never bought 8 tracks but had quite a few that my father gave me. Im not into music downloads but I have a collection of MP3 music that I have coverted from CDs to save time and space

Hiya WOM. It's great to know that you and the wife keep SB in your thoughts and prayers. For the most part she has been following and submitted to the treatment, which I will say its working great and she is responding well. She is approaching the last stage of the treatment and the Dr said she will be coming home soon. She has not been logging on due to the physical drain caused by the treatment, but she always asks about everyone and I keep her up to date on things. I will try to get her t

That is the most clear and logical explanation of how the selling of premium skins will be handled. NT you mention a very good thing to keep in mind. For the past year and a half that I've been here on WC and contributing to the skinning community, I have always seen (and admire) top notch authors such as Mormegil, Pixtudio, TSF, Adni (just to name a few) for sharing their work for free aside from the work they put up for sale. Something we all need to learn and not forget. <img src="http://

A very understandable point Sept1mus, but you must keep in mind that the authors of these skins make them for their personal use and/or taste and post them up for sharing or sale. It is up to the user to choose if it's appealing enough to purchase. Same order applies to the suites. The author puts together a suite based on his style and taste while taking under consideration what generally catches the public's attention. The only way an author will create a 'perfect' theme suitable for your

Well I think is a rather simple question which breaks down to two simple answers Either you thinks premium skins IS and good idea or you DONT. Authors already share their skins for free putting all of their efforts in their work, but as far a quality skins go, well that’s a matter of opinion but I presume it will be left up to moderation to determine which skins are crafted with enough quality, details and functionality to be put up for sale. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=ce

You can disable the sound thru SkinStudio. Just remove the sound attribute of each of the buttons that generates a sound or you can delete the .wav files from the skin's folder. As for the bootup sound, I dont know how or if its possible to change the sound.
