The upgrade that's highlighted is called 'Opportunity' and the description states that: 'Equality drags the least valuable forward while holding the most exceptional back. We should celebrate our leaders, not restrain them.' I think there's a chance that the player may misunderstand this description. It would be clearer if the description read: <p class="MsoNorma

SPORE had/has the major problem that EA's policy on intellectual property was terrible; they claimed all intellectual rights relating to what you make, including if you want to use your ideas for your own stuff. Sure, the argument wouldn't survive a fair court system, but good luck out-funding EA's lawyers. Which is a shame; while it was let down by the art style, it was far ahead of it's time as a custom race maker. I see this ( and the ship designer ) as assets for future dev
To start with, while I personally like the established Races in Galactic Civilisations and I would like to see them return, the idea of adding more Races is inevitably going to be popular. In a way, I think soliciting people's ideas for Races is looking at the question the wrong way - sure, the result is much more likely to be higher quality by filtering out the really stupid ideas people can come up with, but if the idea is to explode the galaxy wide open and really unleash creativit
It's just the game you buy. IIRC, if you get it through the gamefly link via the main page here it was £12.99 for the ultimate edition, but that was a month ago.
They'll be back, for three reasons. 1. They can shape shift, so it is plausible that some could survive the war. Build a colonyship in secret, then full throttle through the dregnin blockade until you run out of fuel, and start again. (it worked for the Aliance in Freelancer...) 2. The dregnin don't kill every last person, it isn't their way to do that (Korath clan excepted for specific in game reasons) although to carry out a revolt s
And no it hasn't.
Most of that can be done, the bits which can't are your cluster of items bit, and mirroring the ship, the bits which are difficult to do are creating races, and the easy bit is giving someone else your ship designs. Don't know whether you can import DA ships into base game. Creating races is easy. I use the Spore creature creating bit to generate the PNG file and then put that into the portrait file, then the race logo is the hard bit
Quoting Frogboy, reply 10 I would like to add that, if I would ever start in a position such as Kraxis, I will ctrl+n for a place not stuck in a corridor. The AI didn't pay for the game, so no Ctrl-N for them. That's right they didn't! They are being paid to do a good job (or well, we are paying you to make an AI that does a good job). What I tried to say is, in a "perfect world",
I've had the demo a while, running an alternative version using a custom race conversion. (GalCiv 1 for humans, 2 for a little reptilian species I'm fond of) Will having the demo alongside the full game cause problems?
If I am not mistaken in GC1 it was possible for a minor race to take over a major one(!) by influence. Actually there are bits that I found better in GC1 and without that game I would probably not have bought GC2.
Yes, but it is unlikely to happen, as it requires the minor to get a good starting point, which they don't often get. I've had games where the Alexians or Carinoids were more powerful tha
Your welcome. Nice idea, just not really workable.
To make the scales correct would mean the average person wouldn't be able to see the ships on the field - even huge ships aren't that big. For example, Star Trek's NCC-1701-D USS Enterprise had/has the same number of people on board as a modern aircraft carrier does. Even in-game descriptions list max ship size as anything up to 2 or 3 km long. I imagine it would lose more immersion factor than gai
Hello. (First post, I know, just signed up.) Unlike GC2, influence only affects United Planets voting in GC1. (Play both games, and mod GC1.) The minor races make influence points as well, you can buy it off of them. (They can't use it anyway)
