The mountains look terrific and even better in close up. The dragon stands out. I expect uncovering that from the fog will be startling. The road seems more visible and the city parts more delineated. The trees look more like a forest. I am still slightly fonder of the older look, but it's close. On close up, I would much prefer it if the individual trees lost the outlining. The green ground seems brighter and more like hope in a dar

It's too bright in here. Can you do something about that please? Sorry, that's one of my obsessions. The family once bought me a shirt that reads: "I am only wearing black until they make something darker." It is starting to fade to dark grey. Such irony.

I certainly cannot give you advice about playing the game better because I am mediocre at best. But here are some other points. Simplify your game choices. Play as the Terrans with default values. Wait until that is boring before you try other races. By then, you will have figured out a whole lot of relevant tactics and factors. Starting tech lines are definitely a personal choice. Are you by nature a military type?&n
I can only repeat that this is the buggiest game that I've ever played (and I could even add a "by far") and Stardock is the most unresponsive company I know.
As I've told my kids a billion times, hyperbole erases believability, but they are by far the most unresponsive and buggiest kids I know.

I almost hate to admit it, but I have done this on purpose. Instead of creating 5 little lasers, I created 1 very big one for visual effect and hid the rest inside decorative elements. I loved the end visual I got. So, either I am very silly, or you just found the artistic creativity subroutines. Or both.

I am going to agree with the OP. I will watch closer what I am doing and what I am seeing, but I would have agreed with everything in the OP before there were the strike outs. If there is some too-small-to-see indicator on my screen, then as far as I am concerned, it doesn't exist. I end up fiddling with selections over and over again or else accidentally overloading one of my champions and getting irritated yet again. It is a wonderful game, but I don't

From the two explanations, I am hearing that population may indirectly affect military production. More population = More taxes = More spending = More Military spending from slider All that is then combined with the calculations for on planet buildings and asteroids, which do not depend on population. Is that correct? I ask because I see military production inching up in increments smaller than I can account for otherwise. &n

Once you get a starport up, and start a given ship, yo can play with the sliders in your economic screen and then see what it does to your completion times for that ship. I found it gave a real good feel for how you were affecting military production. My understanding is that it also depends on manufacturing boosts such as factories and asteroid mines. Not too sure about how much population affects affects ship manufacture, but it seems to for me. Others will probably

Everyone I know who is playing the game is using pure vanilla. Therefore, all players are using vanilla these days. (By my informal sample size) You make interesting assumptions about what the developers need to support. I have no expectation of support of mods from the dev
I thought when we had the map pack topic it was almost unanimous that we said $5 was too much. $3.99 would be a nicer price point for just a few maps and stamps
Not sure what you consider almost unanimous to be, but my impression is that there was the usual griping at anything that isn't handed out for free, a lively discussion on price points, and several people who said, "I'll buy it; tell me

I think it is slowly getting better in real life, and that it will slowly leak into the fantasy world that is the Internet in general, let alone the fantasy-obsessed fantasy within a fantasy that is the gaming community. It is easy to mistake the Internet for reality, when it is actually a hyperbolic mirror, distorting and exaggerating portions of our lives and behaviors, often grotesquely. But, speak out against the jerks when you can. It seems to be the onl

I am not a multiplayer player. However, I would love to sit and hotseat with a family member. But that is a different issue. More maps is more content, and that is what I really really want!

I not only love the updates. As a Steam user, I love how they happen automatically without my needing to do anything at all. "Oh, look, another gift from Stardock!" I have bragged about it to some of my game playing friends. Touting my software supplier as superior to their software provider is a childish and geeky thing to do, but very satisfying.

I am having a ton of fun with the tactical combat. I am starting to get a feel enough of the 4X part to be ready to raise a difficulty or two. Right now, I am really enjoying finding new weapons and creatures and such. The hints of lore everywhere is great flavor. I may break my gaming precedent and actually play a scenario/campaign. That is quite something for me.
