I'm not so sure myself, maybe after 3 or 4 allies, but you need a fair amount of resources for it. Right now I'm spending the time searching any any additional leads on Alien Records so I can hand all 4 in to the Measured but it's really beating me about right now. There's also a planet in a system I straight up can't reach because it's too far out of range of the solar map; you end up hyperspace jumping instead. As far as visually upgrading the ship, I can see why they didn't do that
