- When an empire disappears, occasionally some ships will remain loyal to that vanished empire. In my last two game this happened with the Krynn and the Altarians. If I attack the ship I get a warning that it will mean declaring war on that empire. - In my last game, I simultaneously achieved a Diplomatic victory and Influence victory. An event forced a war when I was 1 step from my influence victory. When I beat my opponent, the only major

In the last game I played, I was playing as Thalan on a tiny map. At one point in the game both the Altarian Resistance and the Torians both offered me to trade my: "Instellar Governments" for "Devil's Forge". The thing is I already had the "Devil's Forge" technology. Why aren't they offering me a tech I don't already have ? Both races had technology that I didn't have.

50) When you're in TA and you are in the colony governor. When you have the governor change planets constructing ships of type X and you want to change the construction to another type, if you double click on the ship you now want to design instead of single-clicking on it, it will crash the game. (Un-caught exception).

Usually in colonization mode, I use the divide and conquer strategy. I get the strongest races fighting each other and strike when they are weakened. I also rely on a surprise attack on a homeworld to weaken an opponent quickly. This lets me build up my infrastructure when they are fighting. In campaign mode, when you have only one opponent and he starts off at war with you, this option isn't available. Any tips on strategies that work well in th

I don't see why the original poster would build nothing but factories. I usually play "crippling" level and factories aren't a big factor in my game until I reach the end. But then I purchase most of my ships from other races and upgrade them and I focus on my technological advantage. The only thing a factory or 2 is good for is building your other buildings that give you other advantages.

Twilight of Arnor has maintenance fee on constructors. I guess it's to prevent constructors from hanging around used mining bases.

The populist diplomacy bonus is nice if you intend to get most of your tech via trading. I will often go for the technologies that increase my diplomacy early on in order to obtain other techs cheaply. I try to obtain the techs of other races that offer race bonuses. This gives me an improvement without having to build anything on my worlds. The high diplomacy rating also keeps other races friendly longer. When I maxed out t

I had a trade route using the military starbase I had built instead of using the nearby economic starbase. When I tried to move my military fleet on the military starbase position in order to defend it from an approaching fleet, I was given the message that if I attack the freighter, it will be a war declaration on the race that owns this freighter. I answered No to the declaration of war and my ship didn't move on the starbase space. I don't see why my mili

Hello, I played a tiny scenario as Korx with the AI set to genius. At one point the Alterian Resistance's two planets joined my empire. Most of its ships joined other empires but there was one Battleship that remained Alterian. When I got the message that the last two planets flipped something went wrong in the game and my screen got messed up. I had to Quick save the game and reload to reset the graphics correctly. When

When you pay to rush build something the cost should gradually go down though. The first time you build something it's a prototype so it's more expensive but when you start mass producing it, it should get cheaper. For example the very first Ford T may have taken weeks to build, but once the assembly line was built to mass-produce it, one could come off it every 5 minutes or so. The same can be said for technologies like

There are two games I played where the Drengin did quite well. The map was gigantic, the AI setting was genius. In one game I remember that the Drengin had build up a couple of starbases to mine military resources and they had maxed a couple of military starbases to help their ships.

I tend to exclude Terrans when I play as another race because their diplomatic bonus is so high that I can't trade for stuff because they are so greedy. They literately turn down offers that would greatly increase their tech because of their diplomatic bonus. I tend to play the tiny maps because the games last long enough as it is. I'm currently at crippling level with the AI level set to genius. I play as a race until I've beaten the game then pick th

>I assume you mean colony modules here, as they're the only other kind that allows you to carry population. Colonies are the better choice as it will give you 250 population but I've taken over planets with converted miners. Miner modules carry a mining population so you will have some troops in it. I've also taken over planets with only 1 troop by using information warfare. When the population's morale is low and your soldering is high, you can get a percen

Suggestion 1: I believe that when a planet flips to your empire, this planet should remain its racial entity. For example if an Iconian flips to the Terran alliance, they are still Iconians. This way would give us access to the Iconian tech tree but only the population that is Iconian can research tech tree elements that are specific to the Iconians. This would enable a civilization to choose which race he wants to populate a new world with and will give them

I just played a game where I played the Terran Alliance. I was right at the center of the Universe and I managed to keep all the major civilizations in a friendly disposition towards me. I researched the techs that increased my diplomacy and 2 levels of miniaturization that allowed me to convert scouts obtained from other races into trade modules that had no engines. I quickly had trade routes with most of the civilizations. I build up my army by trading ships from

The AI could simply be programmed not to leave any world un-defended. There are some minors who just build a huge stash of ships that just sit there. There could also be a UP provision on the purchase of a ship for minors that it couldn't be used to attack the civilization that originally built it. This would apply even if the ship is upgraded.

In my most recent game of Twilight of Arnor, I was playing as Altarian and was planning to attack the Korath. They saw the troop buildup and declared war on me first. (Other races declared war on the Korath). The Korath ships were more powerful than mine and I couldn't make a dent in their defence. (I had saved my game prior to attempting the invasion). I retreated back towards my space and I upgraded the 4/5 scouts I had to constructors withou

The advantage of the auto design is that if your stargates is building it, it will automatically build the upgraded design when it becomes available. The auto design doesn't take advantage of the offensive / defensive modules though. I'd like to see an auto design that makes use of these. Xalanx defence, Thulon etc.

You can send your troops with mining modules through the iconian space. Once they are through, upgrade them to transports. You will have less invading troops so if you have spies, use them to both reduce the morale of the Yor and their population by placing the spies on the spark improvement. When invading with a low number of troops either use the propaganda option which will cause some to defect or use the mass drivers. Another option is to create

Hello, When speaking with the minor races, there never seems to be a possibility to trade for the ships that they build. Is there an option I must change in the game to be able to trade for their ships ? I know that the Major race AI players can trade for the minor races's ships because I've seen them at times in their inventory. It's just often cheaper to buy and upgrade than building from scratch.

I've bribed the Korath to declare war on a powerful race. All they did was sign a peace treaty with them the very next move. This does not respect the "Ambasador is too busy to see you due to recent hostilities" rule. There should have been a few moves between the declaration of war and peace unless another race bribed them to agree to a peace treaty. It's happened a few times. The race that got bribed "kept their word" and by signing

I just played a new game with the same opponents. This time I left my opponent a planet and the other races were less hostile towards mine. The only exception was near the end when a race I had created based on the Altarians was in the process of conquering a cluster of minor races. If they had taken those planets it would have carved in twain my current empire. So I waited till the minor race's defenders were gone and sent troop transports to take
