before .915 I was playing on challenging and wiping the floor easily, with any team I picked. So I bumped it to hard which is what I played most of the games at in .915. I haven't lost one of those games yet. Didn't abuse any cheese strategies to win either (def no quickloading), was just better at questing/loot finding, and making a pointier stick than the ai. I've started a game as Ythril on expert now, and have just wiped out the first team. Almo

I've been playing on Hard, and just started a game on Expert. All my games have been showing the AI champs by level 8 have path of Assassin AND another path. As well as multiple copies of Strength. [e digicons]8C[/e] Does playing on higher difficulties like Hard and Expert make it so that the AI ignores the player restrictions around choosing traits? ie, player can't choose multiple copies of strength, or multiple paths. Even by lvl 20 I haven't ev

I've noticed this as well. I haven't been able to lock down the exact times it happens. I do know some times it has NEVER happened to me though. So hope this helps! ANY unit WITH an ABILITY, regardless if it is in cooldown or not, NEVER auto attacks. by ability, I mean anything from combat abilities like stun, to hero summons like Summon Uteran, to spells, or equipment spell abilities like darkling cloak -blind.

It sounds like it's casting Soul Burning on strike. Which is a fire damage 12 + 9 per fire and death shard spell. If it kills a unit, it leaves behind a burning tile. If they've made the ability on the weapon by "casting" on strike, then you could be right about the evoker and POM damage bonus amplifying the damage.

LOL DC!! Sounds better than my banging on the desk everytime it registers a hit! :P You can get a lvl 1 ignys from a quest. THe flame breath weapon is AOE, but only 2 range (i think). Problem with a level 1 ignys..... 8 hp.....

not since .915. Previously I would cap EVERYTHING because it was the quickest way to win every fight, and you still got the XP. Now, in .915, you get no XP even though it says you do. I found this out by accident..... couldn't figue out why my sov was soooooo low level..... Oh, I just realised I haven't posted a bug report on that..... will have to do some before and after shots tonight to prove it.

You're right Kalin. If the Ai cuold pick out weaknesses and guard against strengths, it would make it play better. And as for how tudjiy takes out the cave bear, my original post would have boosted your Sov's threat rating due to the regen factor, and higher defense :) I still think that I should be able to line up ALL the monsters, and various levels and equipmented Sov/champs, in order of threat rating and not have anything able to beat something

if you select beastlord as a your sov trait, also select the trait that gives you + spell mastery per level, and hardy (+hp per level). Don't cap anything less than a cave bear. You need to kill some stuff for lvl up. Also, if youcan get the blind spell, it helps heaps! Choose path of defender and every dodge and hp increase trait you can get :) by level 7, if you have good armour you have an OK chance of capping an umberdroth. By level 15, you have a

oh yeah, beastlord is so much fun :) How else can you get 30/20 bash and overpower units with 80+ hps??? not including the one or two champions that have the bash ability.... :D super fast spellcaster with mass curse + 3+ umberdroths = iwin [e digicons][/e] Shiro is correct in his assessment. smack bang on the money. Tremor is another good cheap territory control spell :)

It's not a fear of maul, bear and bear cub are fine being rated weak (1 militia no armour can win/almost win). The cave bear with 15 att, no penalty to accuracy and a decent amount of hp is not a weak threat. it is medium. Have you seen a champion with maul and 40+ att? That is something to fear.... [e digicons]}:)[/e] or rejoice in if it is yours... :D add in 4+ movement..... a good dash of defense, lets say 35+.... and that is maul heaven

Good point Miami. But if the compy produced all the information for me, I'd have no fun :P I want to be able to decide to take on that strong threat rating obsidian golem with my squishy mage.... who is lvl 40..... with all the spell mastery boosts..... and still punch through the golem's spell defense :) That or stuff up :P I basically think that threat should be good enough for a relative comparison before thinking tactics, and whether you or they hav

I had reserve of 600+ mana in a game.... my power rating.... 167.... And that was with 3 champs (incl sov) who could solo any ordinary army.... (think Sovereign sword, Berserkers Sword, Assassins Dirg (I think, 33 att + def piercing). I am sooo going to have fun steam rolling! And that's not to mention my 4 umberdroths, and 2 Hoarder Spiders!! :D

Reloading the save fixed this, so I haven't attached a save game (it would show nothing). An AI city got attacked (and presumably) lost to a monster army. The city stayed on the map with its territory and had 0 population, and "--" for construction times. and 0 growth, and 0 for all the other stats. Could be related to the shadows staying on the map after defeat bug?

In playing the current version I keep finding certain abilities being under-rated and other abilities or monster being over rated. Following are some of the threat levels I find that don't match the power of the unit/monster, as well as some similar things that do seem to match the power rating. I'm only looking at individuals because it's not possible for me to work out how much threat should change for adding different kinds of units. Ignys are over-ra

I've found that the pathfinding is mainly good, but has a tendancies to place too high a preference on finishing on outposts (I think it does the same to resources, but outposts are high priority). If you notice in the screen shot, it's set itself up to move through the outpost. this is fine after you research roads to outposts, but until then, I always be careful and only move in straight lines. either perfect diagonals, or perfect vertical, or pefect horizo

I hate having to load a program.... to load a program!! That is really the only thing I hate about steam. It wanting to load itself, and check itself for updates, before even thinking about loading the actual program I want to run, is downright annoying. Other than that, steam is fine. If they left it so that it had to be run once through their program to activiate etc, fine. But having to load steam AND BE ONLINE for even single player games (some require on

Why is there even storm dragons in a game on easy?? :O I've been playing on hard lately, and am having to spam pioneers something fierce to infill my territory. I don't always use inspiration early game, and I remain competitive. Almost always use hammers if I have it though!! I think that the fact that the dragon or any other gigantic monster is soooo far away from it's lair is a seperate issue from whether or not they should attack cities
