Hell Dragon, I use to have the benefit also of having my site on my dial up account, which was also unlimited traffic, and size up to 40 megs. But they one day put a stat meter on the server and was politely asked to move the site to a commercial domain and pay for the hosting. Also I just put a link to your site darkproject.com on mine. Very nice site I like the clean layout and easy of navigation.
I get the same time of error when I try to upload files and have any browser privacy enabled on firewalls. This might be a similiar situation when others try to upload and get problems, they may have the walls set really high. Just a thought
I have also notices that my traffic increased and decreases based on the uploads to the site. I have also seen an even larger change with each remake of the site. The main thing I noticed was when the one unamed skinz site closed traffic really fell off, and now as the people migrate to here the traffic has increased again. I do not have a counter on the main page, so it is hard to tell from the stats I do get from my server but it looks like about 1,000 to 3,000 zip downloads a week, with 10,00
I was just curious what the average traffic other artists and skinners get on their own personal sites. Also if that traffic has been effected by the changes in the communities in the past several months.
HeavensElite, you might also want to check out some sites focused on Fantasy Art. I know there are tons of community and sites dedicated to images similiar to what you are asking about. For the life of me I cannot find the links in my bookmarks, but you should easily be able to find some in a net search.
BnR65, do you happen to be on a cable, dsl, or other high speed connections? And if so are you running an up to date virus and firewall program. The reason I ask is about a week ago a friend had a similiar problem and needless to say after she looked at everything else she then did a virus scan with a new up to date scanner and found half a dozen virus' running all around her sys. Needless to say once she solved that problem she has not had any memory problems since.

Oh yes I di understand it is a minority and a fanatical group. Along with the fack the hatred and ignorance is something that is easily embedded in some people, expecially in certain areas of the world, even here. If you are raised knowing only hatred then that is all you will know. I just found that extremely disturbing, any celebration of death and destruction is disturbing, and something I personal could never understand fully.
One of the things I find the most disturbing is that when a horrific event happens in another country, or a terrorist attack happens somewhere in the world, you do not see people in the US cheering about the attack. Imediately people start looking at sending aid or help to those harmed. While in the aftermath of horrific attack you see images of people celebrating the events. I guess that sight hit me harder than anything else, the fact that anyone person let alone large groups could be celebrat
my heart and thoughts also go out to all the people directly effected by this very dark days events. My heart also goes out to any innocent people that will be unluck to get caught in the area around the people that planned this horrific attack.

One game I would love to see make a comeback with a new game engine and graphics facelift is the archade game Marlbe Madness. I just remember the energy level that game use to bring about....the insanity of trying to spin that giant track ball fast enough to get the marble around the course. The only drawback would be that you would go thru trackballs like crazy....

Oh do not get me wrong I totally agree there are a lot of paint by number users on bryce. Which is a shame, but hey I guess we all learn or start somewhere. And no I was never into flipper either. Now aquawoman that is a different story.

Jafo, yes unfortunatly the majority of of people using bryce only do landscapes, but there is a lot more that can be done. Most of my stuff is totally abstract but it is done in bryce. The benefit is that you have easy control over lightling and camera position. Unfortunatly it gets a bad rep for only being good for landscapes.
Ok, now if you first off read or take the test then you are or should automatically score in the top 20, second think of it this way, if you spend a fair amount of time reading threads like this and participating in them. Does that not automatically classify you in the nerd/geek catagory? Hidding inside of us all is a nerd that is screaming to get out, there are just a few of us that accidently let it out.

Bryce is a good starting point cost wise. The only real limitation is that you are restricted to how intense of custom models you can make with it. Along with the tendancy to put together a ton of landscape scenes. Like the literature says, create your first scene in 5 minutes with Bryce. But in its defense, it is a great starting point with easy to learn controls, good lighting manipulation, texture application. Then once you decide if you can handle the 3D enviroment you can move up to Ray Dre
Quake 3 Team Arena, just something to vent aggrevation.
I still think those quiet rooms should be covered in velcro, and then the guest has a velcro suit on. WOuld make for a nice time in the quiet room and when he/she is in the corner they are actually stuck to the ceiling corner
