I am quite sure that the treaty income won't be affected by your Econ ability - that would be like getting double multipliers, won't it? I have no idea about the Tourism income, but I would think that Xrati is right. After all, Trade income has its own modifiers independent of the Econ ability.

I will be keeping my tray program running until the new year in case any sweet deals do pop-up for me. I have a list ready :D BTW, I agree that the information that it can be turned off must be displayed prominently - there are a myriad of options there in the 'settings' and many people won't bother to read and find it - they will just switch off the tray program permanently. This should be considered seriously, because Impulse is not Steam. Impulse Now is not an "essential" program.<

You can find the link to the Galactopedia from this link: https://forums.galciv2.com/306176 Do note that it is not like the Civilopedia, but it will still give you all the data. Also, do read the wiki - it is extremely helpful.

The Mind Control Centre - it is a galactic achievement available only to those with Evil Alignment. It is cheap to build and has the following benefits: -In ToA, it just makes sure that those planets of the other races which have a possibility of flipping, will flip almost instantly. It is an unbelievably helpful tool in Influence and Conquest victories. The planets that you get don't start with close to 0 pop either :) -In DA, I believe it also gave +100 economics bonus to yo

No, no. What I mean is that for a military victory, you need to eliminate all the other races. Whereas you get an influence victory when you get about 70-75% of the galaxy under your influence. How are going to take over all the planets without getting an influence victory first? By turning off influence victory, of course ;)

You can't use them for defence against passive spying by your opponents. However, you can use them to remove any spies planted by the AI on your planetory improvements. Is that what you are asking?

I have already done that and found the 2.7x figure, and also that the issue had been "fixed". No further clarification or information, though. Maybe it isn't so bad after all? As long as the other techs suffer only small inflation, the increased weapons tech costs might even be helpful in ensuring that you have to put in a big amount of money for increased firepower. Hmm...this has left me slightly confused [e digicons]:hugme:[/e] It could be because I play on medium sized ma

Well, I am doing pretty much what you suggested. My first MV game was with the Terrans/small/challenging, while the second game was drengins/medium/tough. I am going to try either the Koraths or the Krynns next on Painful, although the map size will probably still be only medium - my P4 is dying. My aim is to get the racial victory medal and also get to know all the races in the process. Or the other way round ;) Your idea on mixing up the levels could be a nice one. I certainly don't

Cakewalk justifies its name ;) Try normal or challenging difficulty - before that the AI is pretty much useless IMO. And you will soon find that military victory is one of the most difficult to obtain. In fact, impossible without turning off Influence victory.

There are video tutorials in the game that will help you get started with such basic things. After that, you might want to go through the official basic strategy guide here: https://forums.galciv2.com/104908 You should be good after that. Don't give up on this game - it is a great game :) Welcome! [e digicons][/e]

I had read somewhere that 2.7x was the max tech inflation was the max that would happen, but that is simply not true. The other techs don't become that expensive, but the weapon techs really undergo hyper-inflation. In my last game as the Drengins at normal tech rate, the Doom Ray tech cost was 46000+!!! That is more than 5x infltion, and it was just the 3rd year. I don't know what would have happened had it dragged on intil the 6th or 8th year!
I would have thought the "complete" version would not include the upcoming 3rd expansion for another year, so will buy the "complete" now, and if I get into it will buy the 3rd expansion seprately in the next month or so.
Good Decision, IMO. EUIII upto In Nomine is a VERY GOOD game. If you like it, you can get the expansion later :)
