Yes, I read that. I don't think this was necessary becasu AFAIK if you are relying on Creativity to do the research for you, it will probably be a waste of time.

Will check that out too :)
Good point about that 18k requirement. Yes, it might be possible against the AI, but probably foolish against humans. Hmm...not as easy as it seems on first glance, is it? This game, I mean. Thanks, guys and yes, I love catapult-units. UB didn't go all that well for me, unfortunately. Hmm...time to read "a tale of two beasts"! ;)
Thanks, both of you - I was stupid to not use the mousewheel! Yeah, people very rarely buy artifacts. Occasionally, players will buy a mageslayer. It's about the only artifact that's worth the price. I though Ashkandor was also quite nice for a high HP+damage buil. Did I think wrong? BTW, for the first time the normal AI managed to give me a tough fight. I don't think I am going to like Rook.

Banned for being 'lost' in the quagmire of words.
Well, I have played 3-4 games against the easy AI, won handsomly and am absolutely loving the game! [e digicons]:inlove:[/e] The problem is that I don't know how on earth am I winning and what am I supposed to do. The manual is woefully short of any sort of explanation, or maybe I read through it too quickly. I would be glad if anyone could answer some of these questions or point me to a link with information about basic game concepts. 1. When you press F4 in a game, you can

Banned because Demigod is good...G O O D. I have wanted a game like this for so long!
My worst fears came true (about downloading). See this link for why: http://forums.impulsedriven.com/372033 Maybe somebody can help me avoid downloading the game again :(
The link to the GalCiv2 wiki is this: https://www.galciv.wikia.com/wiki/Galactic_Civilizations_Wiki
Ugh, that sounds like a bug. I just saw another post about that. Unfortunately, it is holiday time, so it probably won't be fixed until after that.
Banned because I just got an 800% industry tile on my home planet and 800% research tile on the 15 PQ planet next to it. RNG is soooooooooo good :D

Don't worry, it happens to the best of us. And I mean that literally ;)
As Brad has pointed out multiple times (and personally I think is 100% correct in thinking) anyone who likes a game and wants it Will buy it. When it comes to making money, pirates really don't matter at all.
You should add "can buy the game" to the list of qualifiers. Many people who pirate, especially kids, simply can't buy the game, either because of a lack of money, unavailability of the game or unavailability of a credit
He's playing BTS, I think. Also, you need to re-upload your character logos and they will work again. Cheers! [e digicons][/e]
Quoting arunodayt, reply 4 I think he means, if you have 2 planets, don't build the influence base in the middle between the two. Instead build the influence base as close as possible to one planet. Once that one flips, the other planet will follow soon.
Ah ok! Thanks for the clarification :)
I am downloading it using the Impulse client - Anywhere had some problem with its "source file". I had to hunt down the myriad hidden folders and clean them up to free enough space on my C drive. When I downloaded GC2 ultimate using the client, it absolutely bombed because of a lack of space on the C drive, even though I had set manual folders for both archives and cache. Soon after, I began getting "Cyclic Redundancy Error" and had to reinstall the OS - not Impulse's falut, of course
Banned ban ban ban....
If you choose the Evil alignment, you can build the Mind Control Centre. In ToA, the MCC makes sure that the planets that are about to flip actually flip quite fast. It totally works, if that's what you want :) Otherwise, there is no guarantee when the planet will flip. I had a Krynn planet with 15.8 influence ratio, and it didn't flip for nearly 25 turns. I just conquered it in the end :P And no, it didn't have special structures to prevent flipping. [quote who="WIlly
Banned because Demigod download is creating problems.
I just had the Demigod deal shown to me - so it is probably working for me again! :)
Hehe, I have my hands full at Medium abundant itself! ;)
I am about to upgrade my PC and I don't trust the archive function of Impulse. The download from Impulse Anywhere is immune to it. Also, once installed, you can use it with Impulse as you would any game :) Unfortunately, there is some problem with the Impulse Anywhere source file right now :(
