The money is to support Wincustomize, the skinbrowser is just an added incentive. I have no need for it, but I subscribed anyway, you see - I''m a mindless Stardock drone who pays for whatever they throw my way, cause I like them so much On a serious note, it''s not something you need if you don''t want it. I subscribed to support WC, I''ve been using it since day one and I feel obligated to support it in a
Mackintosh
I still get the cursor "on top" of OpenGL applications, which really is quite disturbing when playing games; and "disappearing" menus with WinFX enabled. Nevertheless, I'm still using it every day.
Fli7e, Shog, misery, Pordey, Xcap, prec, ess-vid...arrr...there are so many names that have bloody escaped me at the momment..Vend...umm... /me bangs head on the monitor - long term memory loss at an early age, not a good sign.
I don't see any improvements with new CPUs, but that might have something to do with the fact that I upgrade as soon as they hit the market
One more thing. I agree with paxx in one important point. I think it's about time you conceded the fact that WC is a Stardock owned and influenced website. I suggest you add that to the "about" section and end this controversy. It's only a couple of lines and those 400,000 people that come here will hardly give a damn, while you will appease those anti-globalists among us.
Froggy, you can talk (type) yourself to death yet you still won't convince a number of people. Just live with that fact and move on. Those who trust you, already believe you and those who don't, well, as history shows, they never will.
Oh boo hoo, no HvD. Go over to MS and complain they don't host Linux or MacOS while you're at it. Lies! All lies! Face it, the world is based around ambiguous statements. Is WC an entry point? To an average Joe Blow it is. Can they find links to other sites? Yes, they can. Can they get skins to change their desktop, yes they can. Where's the problem? Oh yes, no HvD.
Been a registered ODNT user for what now...two years or so? Registered WB when it went 1.0 (didn't want to register beta software), got ODNT only so I could get access to WB beta, rather silly, wasn't it I equate every purchase under $AUS 100 to packets of cigarettes. ODNT has so far cost me 10 packs of Marlboro Lights 100's. I can easily live with that, for a while I'll smoke 10 a day, instead of a pack <i
18%, I'm either very dumb, or my preference for Arts is showing (even though I have a BEc in management)
I don't have time to comment these days. I hardly ever have the time to read the forums, let alone post anything Been working 18h days Once I get all the backlog cleared, I'll comment on all new stuff like I used to
Being a Pole I take objection to this thread
1600x1200 here, both my monitor (Sony GP...err...the new 21" one) and my card are capable of higher resolutions, but my eyes just can't handle anything smaller.
Since they stole the layout, which is a breach of copyright, I believe we have found a way to fund WC. Sue! Sue! Sue!
Ummm...I got a ZX Spectrum for Christmas, back in...1983, 84? Damn, I can't remember, it's been so long Moved on to a C64 after that. Then came an Amstrad-Schneider CPC 6128, after that an Amiga 500 I think. I had an Atari STD 1640(?) as well. Geez, I've gone through a lot of computers in my relatively short life span N
Congrats guys now go forth and...err, wrong story
Indeed. Sue Nullsoft. They should have deep pockets.
Bloody bastards. Up yours Nullsoft. Glad I don't use Winamp.
You should email them and force them to take it down. Threaten legal action if you must. It's your work, no one has the right to alter it an re-post it somewhere else as they please.
Gorman, the subscription model will only succeed if there are no free alternatives and I believe that will not happen for a very long time yet. I wouldn't pay a dime for the sites I visit daily. Not because I'm a miser, but because most of the stuff I get from them, I could get for free elsewhere or because I can find "real-world" alternatives. I'd rather pay for a newspaper subscription, than to pay some news site. A lot of people still pay lots of money for internet access,
Win2k never gave me any problems, haven't had the need to reformat ever since I installed it in late 1999. Unless something comes out that I'll absolutely want to use and it won't run on win2k, then maybe I'll upgrade to XP, otherwise, I see no reason whatsoever.
Congrats to both of you. It was a great skin indeed
Whoa, second? When did that happen? Best of wishes for you and your missus. Hope everything goes well Oh yes, say hi to your baby from me
