Why add this to Object Desktop only? You'll lose a lot of sales that way. $50 is a lot when you don't care about skinning but want a great productivity app. It makes sense for WB, DS and IP to be in Object Desktop, but not apps like this. Productivity apps should be seperate, like Object Dock is.

Yes. I logged it as a bug which they say "could be fixed in a future release". Make of that what you will, but the actual issue is the combination of "reserve edge of screen" and "hide taskbar".
The issue happens when you have "Reserve Edge Of Screen" turned on.
I had this issue. Stardock support couldn't come up with a answer apart from re-installing windows. I finally got a chance to do a clean install, and hey presto, OD no longer freezes. So I still don't know why it happened, nor what might make it happen again, but all is fine now.
Found the specific setting to do this. Nice. Thanks for your help (!)
I don't think it does this already, at least not that I've found. Anyone used to the OSX dock should understand the behaviour I'm after. Basically I want to show running items in my dock, but ONLY if they haven't already been "docked". e.g. I have an empty dock. I run thunderbird and obviously it's icon appears in the tasks area in my dock. If I right click and "Add This Application" to the dock I currently then have 2 thunderbird icons: One "docked"
Vista 32bit Business. OB2 showing running tasks. When you run taskmanager,( i.e. ctrl-alt-delete / start task manager). Task Manager will run, but OD will freeze for 30 seconds. After 30 second it will start responding and the TM will then show in the dock. When you then quit TM, OD will freeze again for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds OD will start responding again and the TM icon will disappear from OD. Thanks Bryan
I found how to fix the problem. Re-install Vista ;) Drastic I know, but it was a good excuse to give my PC a spring clean. Unfortunately it means I won't be installing any more Stardock products. I had reached the stage where I only really used Windowblinds, but due to a bug that I reported and was "escalated" (whatever that means) 3 months ago, I have been unable to use it. So I've gotten used to not having it around. Vista doesn't look that bad really and luckily my subscripti
Bump. Do we know if there is any further info on this major bug? IP is the last OD product that I need to uninstall, but I can't because all my icons vanish.
Yes, let's spin those results. A vote for "OS of choice" gives you that "fact" that majority of the people visiting this site prefer to use an OS other than Windows. LOL
I love the "Windows is obviously my first choice" additude to this poll. Couldn't be further from the true. Window's is forced upon me by my work. And while it is I often use this site. But at home, thankfully I get to use a real computer. Maybe the poll should be "Which os do you prefer?", or "Have you even bothered to try another OS?"
Can anyone tell me where I can pick up the Aqualix for Vista Icon Pack? I think they are supposed to be installed if you download the "Icon Set" from Stardock Central, but I've tried that and no new icons appear. Thanks in advance. Bryan
Unfortunately it's rather sad that this isn't true. With many Apple users using BootCamp, or Virtualization to run Windows this would be a big boom to DesktopX.
Any update from support?Did you email? Did you get an autoresponse? Did you follow the directions?
No, but then rameses had, and I don't see much point in raising what appears to be the same issue. Sorry. I thought it was clear that was who the question was directed at.
So why not just buy it and 1) Don't download the premium suite or 2) If you don't want it after download just delete it.
The principal my friend, the principal. But I like your "give some to charity" idea. Ok, it doesn't go with the Wincust charity, but there are plenty of others out there. I think instead of buying a skin I don't want, I will sacrifice this Xmas skin and give the cash to charity direct. £10 is on it's way to [link="http://www.breastcancercare.org.
for how much ? more than the $4.95 of the cheapest premium on sale or less than $4.95
$4 is a little low. $7-8 seems to be the going rate for a suite with skins/icons/gadgets and wallpapers. Maybe a little less as it's a seasonal skin. The only "offer" should be the usual discount for subscribers. Can I swap my RIP suite? I didn't really want that, but it came free with my Magic suite. ;)
Are the sales of the premium skins not going well? Swizz! I would of bought this suite immediately, but I'm not going to buy some other suite that I don't like just for the sake of it. Sure wait till next year, which by then Windowblinds will have moved on even further (i would hope) which would render this skin outdated. Not a good move guys. Holiday spirit? Mm. You'll never pay for the office party this way.
Reply from Insight Software: [I]We looked at this problem yesterday afternoon and are getting the same results. One of the functions within the mexhook.dll file is the keyboard remapping feature in Macro Express. It looks like this is the function that is clashing with MagicClock. Right now our thinking is to place an option in Macro Express to turn on or off the keyboard remapping option. Turning it off would allow MagicClock to work correctly, and potentially other apps as w
I have not received any emails. But it doesn't have anything to do with my macros because I have uninstalled, and re-installed from scratch. As soon as Macro Express runs for the first time, the clock gadget stops. I have not contacted Insight Software, but I will give them a try too. Thanks Bryan
Apologies, I had broken the above WWW link, but it's working again now.
Done. The config file is here: [link="http://www.s209086557.websitehome.co.uk/wsb4562076801/mystuff/images/config.mcf"]WWW Link[/link]
Ah, this seems to have fallen under a S.E.P. field. I shall log if official then, thanks.
Didn't know there were different versions. I presume it's not the MyColours version: Mike, I have found what the problem is, it's a macro program called [link="http://www.macros.com/"]Macro Express[/link]. When this is running the clock behaves as mentioned above. When this isn't running the clock works correctly. I have run your command with and without this program running, see below, and the difference appears to be "mexhook.dll". I don't know if thats a problem you can get
The second hand doesn't move and the time on the clock doesn't change, except when I right click on the clock and it shows the "Close/About/Autorun" menu. While this menu is visible, the second hand ticks happily away. (Running Vista 32bit) Thanks
Excellent suite but the clock gadget doesn't work. The second hand doesn't move and the time on the clock doesn't change, except when I right click on the clock and it shows the "Close/About/Autorun" menu. While this menu is visible, the second hand ticks happily away. (Running Vista 32bit)
