right now i am loving doing it and posting My Creations here.
Your work is appreciated. I'm enjoying seeing it here.
Tried to leave a link but putting one on this forum is beyond my skill level.
This one's not bad. A view of the Winchester Mystery House from that link:
Updated original post to move War with the Unknown to the working list, with the note that it requires attacking an AI civ ship before researching Universal Translator.
Looks like "War with the Unknown" requires a player to declare war on someone without researching Universal Translator
Thanks for letting me know.
Updated the list to move Against the Tide to the working section. I had thought that starting the Against the Tide challenge would also grant War with the Unknown, since I had only met 2 of the civs when I turned on Against the Tide and they all declared war on me, but it didn't work. It might have been because I had built Eyes of the Universe. Seems like it shouldn't have, though, since building that doesn't let you declare war on anyone you haven't already met.
Did you see the other post I made before that regarding Fleet Victory
Yes, I did see it, but was a bit pressed for time and couldn't decide what I wanted to say about it. I'll update it now.
Updated to mark Discover a Nebula as Epic only.
My fans were running full out too, until I turned off Anti-aliasing in the graphics settings. It still gets hotter than I'd like, but that helped.
Might have missed it, but I see it between
You're right, I was looking in the wrong place because I thought I didn't have it already. Turns out I did it more than 6 months ago and forgot about it.
These aren't on your list, but are on the GalCiv 4 page. Build a Terror Star Use a Terror Star Win by Terror Star Lose by a Terror Star Lose by Your Own Terror Star
Interesting. Some may have been added since I made my original post. The last 4 show up in the list of Steam Achievements, but Build a Terror Star does not. Strange. Anyway, I

IIRC, Niven's Ringworld had a star in the middle of it, with the livable surface on the inside of the ring facing the star. A small portion of a Dyson sphere, as it were. Also had orbiting segments between the star and the ring to block the light and provide nighttime to portions of the ring.
I'd be happy to know what what the "eureka" means?
The very first Progressive ideology choice gives temporary approval boosts to citizens when a tech is researched. This shows up in their stats as Eureka.
I've played many games, including my current one (2.4.578621 Insiders w Custom Civ), where I've had way more than 9 colonies, and I never knew this challenge existed, so I'd have to agree it's not unlocking
Same here. In my current game I've got 29 colonies, I've never seen that unlock either.
The Grammar Enforcer sounds like a trait of the governor. I have no idea about Observation Post, unless it comes from a colonization event or other random event. Anyway, I also agree with the point of the post, more information is better.
I tried the Navigators again after playing other civs for several months, and this time the achievement for winning as the Navigators was awarded. I've updated the original post to reflect that.
Fleet victory is weird as I haven't been able to get it to unlock, but the global stats for it via Steamdb show that 18% of the player base have unlocked it.
Exactly. I've been winning fleet victories against AI civs, pirates, and monsters, with small fleets, medium sized fleets, and fleets with dozens of ships (on both sides) since the beta of the base game on Epic, and I've never gotten the achievement. But the stats
Believe it or not, Prestige victories were even faster in the base game on Epic, before Supernova. Complaints were numerous and one of the devs did a pass to slow it down. I'm not sure whether Supernova changed it.
The developers have said that the artwork is selected from a library of portraits produced by Stardock artists (for copyright reasons), and that the artists are continuing to add more art to the library based on what people ask for in AlienGPT. It is therefore likely that there wasn't anything already in the library matching "radioactive behemoths" (although I agree that Trandals would have been a better choice than humans).
I wish the achievements gave more information on how to get them
I agree, that's part of the reason for this thread.
I'm not sure of the requirements for Trading Partner, but I have established several and still don't have the achievement.
I think you need 12 trade routes in total, whether started by you or started by an AI to you. At least that's how I got it.
Yeah, took me forever to get it, though I never kept track of the turns. One thing that you might try is shopping around the discover anomalies tech(s) to a couple different civs before starting the challenge(to increase the raw number of anomalies), and maybe even during the challenge to replenish the amount of anomalies, though there might be some funny business there with how the game tracks anomalies internally because it took me foreve
Either way, I can confirm the Orb cheevo is now unlockable.
Thanks, I've updated the list. I've tried to get the Orb several times and despite in most cases having my flag ships surveying constantly I've never gotten enough to get the quest advanced past that point.
Well said. I feel much the same way. And since I never completed the GC2 campaigns, and since the couple of times I've tried to go back and do them they crash on me, the idea of somehow getting them into GC4 is an interesting idea.
Yes, it would have been nice if it had stayed in IMHO.
I agree, I liked using it.
