I reported earlier that I had massive lag when using my Netgear DG834N router. I finally found what the problem was... there was something called SPI firewall enabled on the router. This has a UDP flood protection setting which I guess is meant to stop a UDP denial of service attack on me - but it was detecting the Demigod UDP packets as an attack, and probably blocking half or more of them. I've disabled that now and was able to join and play very nicely.</

Originally I used a Netgear DG834N router. I have a 20 Mb downstream / 2 Mb upstream connection, and I didn't have any problem joining games and starting them. But each game I played there was massive lag, e.g. 0.5 second pause every 1 or 2 seconds. I tried this several times as I thought it must be a problem with the other players, but it was the same each time. Only when people dropped out and so that it was 1 or 2 other human players did it play smoothly.

I don't think anyone has mentioned a big advantage of having damage mitigation, i.e. "effective" health versus actual health: If you talk half as much damage then you will require half as much healing, i.e. your health per second regeneration will heal you twice as quick, or you'll require half as many healing spells - so you'll need less downtime out of combat.
