I like the random events. I agree that it feels bad when you get punished by them, and sometimes they seem insurmountable, however my experience is that extreme cases are the minority and are worth putting up with

I've noticed a lot of friends, and now even some casters, sometimes win a claim in an auction, then forget about it for the rest of the game. Would be nice if the UI helped them out a little with an indicator to remind them, say something like the shipping lanes except always on for empty claims? Something more subtle could also work, anything at all would be an improvement

I've been playing with friends for a fair while now. They don't tend to read the forums / research the game outside of play. I noticed that they are making a lot of claim choices which result in shipping goods right across medium maps, their HQ is in one corner, the tall stack in the opposite. So far as I can tell there's nothing obvious when they place a building to indicate that there's a transport cost with distance. Perhaps an estimated fuel c

Making black market items more complicated than a fire and forget seems like it would be a poor trade off in that it adds too much complexity for not enough depth.

FWIW I also think the pleasure dome is quite dull, mechanically speaking. The day/night thing sounds pretty good, the solar panels already do a day/night thing, so maybe there's some potential for interaction there?

If I shift click to buy 100 of a resource, then immediately shift click to sell 100. Assuming there's been no other player/colony buying/selling, is it a lossless transaction? Or do I lose some cash in the bureaucracy? Same question applies to selling then buying, but I assume it's consistent

Do scavengers use carbon for _all_ steel costs? Or just their HQ upgrades? Does the half steel cost Expansive get apply to all steel buildings? or just the HQ?

Hook it into IRC, allow people to join the chat without being in the game, I've seen this work reasonably well in other games. OTC seems to have a pretty good community (not the sort of game that attracts the DOTA crowd) so I'd expect a chat to be really good at building up new players faster

I've seen a few casts where a robotic player lands on silicon, throws down a few solar arrays ASAP, then manages the company on zero debt with power income. I've tried to replicate it once, failed hard. Obviously I should try more than once before making any judgement calls, however I am curious as to whether this is a viable strat in a 3/4 player game or you need to get up to 6-8 players to drive the power price up. Is there any m

Do production bonuses increase resource consumption? or just output? Is it the same for all bonuses (robotic, adjacent, engineering lab, adrenalin boost, are there others?)

I've had some trouble in recent games making glass work out for me... 1 glass = 0.5 oxy + 2 silicon So don't build into glass unless $glass > 0.5*$oxy + 2$silicon? At least in the games I've been playing I haven't seen much of that... I've also had trouble supplying the furnaces with oxygen... Is there a way to have auto supply be the default rather than something I need to remember to toggle?

I had a go at this last night and was not able to get my MBP keyboard to trigger the "sell all" action using "control" + shift + down arrow. I disabled all the keyboard shortcuts, and that did not fix it. Is there anything else I can do?

I'm having trouble finding community discussion on the game. Zultar's casts are a fantastic resource, however it's not the same as a multi party conversation. These official forums have a small amount of info, however it has low signal to noise with all the other topics mixed in (bug report, feature request, first impressions, general chatter) I know it's a dynamic game etc, no strategy is dominant etc, however there's tons of room for discussion arou

If I get the slant drilling patent, and have a single cube aluminum tile next to a single cube iron tile, and a mine on each, what is the result? * Each mine gets its local resource? * Both mines get iron / alumnium? * Both mines get both resources?
