The simple fact it was made clear there would be only 8 Demigods and no new map is failure enough for Demigod. Dawn of War 2 has been patching new things in, even a map editor and new game modes for free. The "it's too expensive" means only one thing : Demigod is a commercial failure they don't want to invest any more money in, as simple as that. And I agree with them. The game is not bad, far from it, but it suffered from a lot of stupid things at release, notably too
Thanks for the feedback. However, no new free 3v3 map = epic fail From the very beginning I said this game did not have the content to be worth 40$. Look now, even after 1.2 it will still not be worth more than 25$. Future of the game looks grim, indeed.
I'm gonna be Mr Obvious, but... REPLAYS
Just as a note: When an admin views a post it displays on our side whether the person has purchased/registered Demigod.
Err, not really. Until recently I was using a different account for the forum and for the game so anyone doing that, you have no way of knowing if they own the game or not, am I right? That said, I don't think LoL will kill anything. September release is suicide for LoL as SCII was announc
I'd pay nothing. There should have been like 12 DGs to begin with and they promised at least two for free. By the time they get to DGs we must pay for, Starcraft II will be out and DemiGod left with like 100 players online, so who cares?
Never had problems, but I'm glad to hear it's working fine for a lot more people now.
Taking “Power of the Tower” at level 1 is a must. If your first point is spent on towers, there isn’t a single Demigod that can take you on singlehandedly at Level 1. This allows you to control flags longer and farm creeps unhindered.
I won't disagree it's the best skill to pick up first most of time, but going so far as to say no other Demigod can take you on 1v1 and force you to retreat is pushing it. Generals minion builds will win the fight
From a marketing standpoint, you can't blame them for reassuring people interested in SupCom 2.
Don't compare army with normal working people! Not only your physical prowess is probably a gift from nature, but on top of that you trained for months to withstand such hardships. A programmer is a simple person sitting in front of a computer all day...
Regulus has zero lasting power at a flag, all he can do is flee most of time. If you really have troubles with him, play UB or Erebus, they eat him for breakfast all the time. Always carry a quick potion so you don't get sniped while fleeing Let creeps eat the mines, use minion or just go around them if you see them. That said, good riddance, don't need people whining everytime they lose to a particular DG.
To put it in a nutshell, I'm not inclined to put up with crap from some idiot on the net. The reason is that we don't have to. And so we won't.
So true.
Why we are even arguing about it is beyond me. Disconnect = disconnect. Leave/Quit = loss Ragequitters will be punished simply because noone wants to play with someone who's got 47 losses for 4 wins. He'll basically be stuck in Noob games for a while in custom mode and in Pantheon, well, he lost points or whatever.
HOORAY FOR PUNISHING PLAYERS WHO DONT WANT TO GET CURB STOMPED! gg. The day this system affects me is the day I delete DG and stop telling my mates to buy it. Maybe I'd be better off with the Warez players on hamachi then bowing to the facist tactics mentioned here.
How about deleting immediatly?
I completely disagree, I've won games while losing 1-14 on the kills count.
Your upload speed is pretty much at the limit for 4v4, let alone 5v5. You are probably borderline for 3v3 because you have something else sucking up on that upload. The behavior you are experiencing is a clear lack of upload bandwitdth once the game starts. You need to either : 1) Do a complete check of your computer to remove unnecessary programs sucking that bandwidth 2) Upgrade your line 3) Don't play more than 2v2
Check the logs of your router, I've seen that behavior before. The time shouldn't be random, it should always be the same amount of time between the disconnects give or take 5min. This is not on your end, this is a problem on your ISP local routers having a problem with your line specifically and they need to fix it, not you. They know exactly what the problem is, they just don't want to put in the time and money to fix it because it might require a change in the cables going from you
Disregarding the fact that the number of disconnections counter on my profile page doesn't count up properly (another broken thing), it doesn't show the truth behind why I disconnected: 20% of the time I get an unhandled exception which crashes the game. 20% of the time I loose connections to another player and get booted (1.01 might fix this, I don't know). 60% of the time, another player crashes, looses connection or rage quits,
If you didn't let him cap the flag in the first place, you would not have had that problem. What did it teach you? Always have a teleport scroll on you and watch the minimap like an hawk.
The 500ms player was laging and creating a small slideshow, killing your FPS.
dont u see all games in the lobby or whats the deal? your speaking about 2000 player peaks and there were 5 open games in the lobby. there cant even be enough running games for 600, which u say it the bottom peak.
I NEVER said 600 was bottom peak, I said it was offpeak which means it's just one of the numbers out of peak time. Bottompeak is more along the lines of 200-300 and it's generally the time when US is sleeping and
This thread only shows one thing, some people have no clue about paid RTS simultaneous online players. 2-5k at peak time is the standard for a good game, except for Warcraft 3 and eventually the upcoming Starcraft 2. Blizzard games are in another league as far as total players go. 600 is NOT peak. It's offpeak. When I played last night, it was 1784 online and I'm sure it still wasn't the max. 6 weeks in, it's not neither bad, nor good, it's average. Battleforge is FREE
If someone has -4 after 20min, they most likely never had more than 1-2 in the first 5min. You should pay more attention to this at beginning of the game.
The disconnect idea sounds absolutely horrible to me: it is never a good idea to put someone's account in a state where they have a difficult time playing the game, first because those people paid to play your game, and second because there is no fool-proof method to determine who should be allowed to play and who shouldn't. It is made far worse by the fact that Demigod is likely to get a lot of false positives due to the high presence of
Most RTS games have the % disconnect showing. They are even harsher as they give a LOSS to someone quitting past 3min. Sorry, but if after 2 real disconnects in a row you keep playing, it's your fault for messing up your disconnected %. Those are good ideas and should be implemented. I'd even go as far as doing like every other game out there, disconnect = loss, period.
