OK, the full price of ODNT DX Pro is like $70.00. Is there a discounted upgrade price for OD Ultimate users?
I would like to know the answer to that also as I am thinking of buying the pro version..
Murex
Jim is right ObjectDesktop comes with the standard version of DX you have to purchase DX Pro to be able to make a gadget
Like a lot of other apps, DesktopX, Right-click etc., updates are definitely needed.
A few other componets need to be fixed. system tray for one and it would be nice to see updates to mail and recycle bin.
Better to give more importance on other parts of your theme. Rarely someone will be using it.
I kinda thought that was the way it is but I thought I would find out what other skinners and users thought.
I use the DX players in my themes, but I set it to use my default media player, not object media. I don't even install object media. DX player will use your choice of several media players installed on your system. I almost always use one of my media players when playing music. But then, I don't care about visualizations, and such. I do not understand how to use active x controls to make better media players. I would like to add an equalizer to my media players.
When I
I have always included DXplayer in my themes and I used to use it. I don't know if it's because I am on vista but I have been having trouble getting volume and balance working. I think it used to work before I went to SP1 but I can't remember for sure. I know that I could get system tray to work before I installed SP1. If I can get the volume to
One thing I did notice it's not a big thing but you might want to make the processor type information into two lines. MY processor name is really long and it extends out over your system information object. It won't be a big deal to change for the more advanced user but the novice may not know how to change it.
I get a script error Line 58 On the flame object but I assume it's because I run 1650X1080. Other then that it's a great theme and every thing resized to my screen size.. But I have to say I just LOVE the drip.... it's details like this that make your theme look fantastic...
I'm curious does any one really use the Object Media player that skinners supply with their DXthemes. I run Vista and it seems like more and more of the components of the player have stopped working. Along with a few other things that doesn't work such as the system tray. Hopefully stardock will fix the system tray but they haven't really done any thing with the Object Media player and I doubt they will.
Looks good so far. I would be happy to test it for you. Let me know where to download it or you can email me and I will send you the address to send it to.. It's nice to see more interest in DX
I'm in Palm Harbor about 4 blocks from the gulf and we had light frost on the cars, grass and roof tops. haven't seen frost in many years..

Hi there Mr ED looks like we live in the same part of the country... Tampabay I could be wrong but I think it went something like this. I did some playing around and the only thing i noticed is that if my image of the slider isn't cropped completely as to not show any transparent background in paintshop, then it will have some dark contour when chosen in Dx. I opened a player I downloaded and ungrouped all the objects and I saw the black contour on

Hopefully Stardock fixes this. DesktopX 3.5 was released quite a while ago...can't they do a minor update?
<span style="font-size: x-small; font-family: A
Thanks for the workaround. I'm doing the same now in XP SP3.
Your welcome glad I could help. I am still using the system tray object from one of my older themes in Vista and it is still working fine. Apparently system tray will work in vista it's just a matter of getting stardock to work on the problem.
Unless Stardock has fixed the system tray issue and I don't know about it. The answer would be no you can't. This has been an issue in both XP and Vista for a while now.
There seems to be a bug in the later versions of DX. Running in XP I have had success by downloading an older DXtheme that has a system tray in the skin and export it as an object into a folder of your choice and then import it into your skin. This method has always worked for me in XP but only a few times in vista

Take your own advice and simple don't read it if it bothers you. No one is forcing you to read. Just go away and read something you like. Some people do have problems with programs.
I have been slowly working on a DXtheme using Vista Ultimate. I noticed the lack of system tray in objects properties. I just loaded an old theme of mine and exported the system tray as a OBJ pack then imported it into the new theme and it seems to work ok.. Version 3.50.060
