Wow Thanks for the fast response, And thank you for the script..I'm not sure what is wrong but the script seems to only work once. It will work again one time only. If I hit apply each time to any properties box. but will not work again unless I hit apply to any property box. Let me give a little more background to what I am trying to do. I have a menu object that has a pop out section that has a list of programs on it. there are 8 pop out menus. What I am trying to do is when I pass the mouse o

Looking for a script, That will show an icon on mouse over (A button) and hide the icon on mouse away.. I thought at one time I saw an object that would do this. If any one knows which object it was or knows where to find the script please let me know.. Thanks... I tried using the commands in desktopx to do this and it works fine, Until I tried to hide the object that the button an icon are on, Once you show the object again some of the other objects disappear or are in another location.. If a

Stardock has some nerve... Can you believe that they spend years developing a software and pay the programmers who work for them and shell out money for servers for you to download their products and to have a place for you to download FREE SKINS then turn around and actually ask YOU to pay for the software.. What NERVE... If I was you I would go to a WARZ site and download the Cracked version.. That would show them..And the best part would be that after the Cracked version messed up your comput

1 right click desktop click on configure desktopX then click on Desktop tab. Then click on wallpaper tab and navigate to the wall you want.. while your here click on the preference tab and check Run automatically when windows starts.... 2 The easiest way to do this is to right click on an existing name of a program (TEXT) click clone object and then right click on the new TEXT and go to properties On the general tab where it says location change it by clicking on browse and find the p

Well looks likes the trashbin doesn't work any more.. It's been awhile sense I have used it so I wasn't aware that it wasn't working. I always just make a shortcut to bring up the recyclebin because i like to see what is in it before i empty it.. Any who I did download one of the older trashbin objects and even thought it says it will not work with newer versions it seems to work ok.. Maybe you can use it until Stardock fixes it.. <a href="https://www.wincustomize.com/Skins.aspx?LibI

Cindi you are right about the 800 X 600 resolution for the contest but the wall should be uploaded as a jpg.only for the contest. Also I would like to mention that a few days before the contest upload date we will create a place for the contest walls to be uploaded to.

One of the reasons for uploading ones work To WC is to have it seen by others and to have it looked at by your peers. To have others guide you and help you to make better skins. I have yet to see any one give another person advice on how to make some ones work better. About the only time any one bothers to leave comments is to praise the top skinners. Every one says the ratings don't mean any thing. Well then I ask you why have them then? The only purp

Well after 53 days you probably have found what you need from some other source. When asking for information or help with something it always helps to give information about what you are asking. (What is it that you want the clock to do) Desktopx has built in scripts for the basic analog clock. To reach the built in clock scripts Make a new object. on the general tab in your new object properties go to bottom of page and click on ADD when the plug-in

DxToys are no longer supported In Version 2 and 3. As sir bichur said it would help to know what version of DesktopX you are using. As to why some objects have right click options and others don't, Unless you are in the building mode you will only have right click options for objects that are shortcuts to programs or url's. You will not be able to access object properties in client mode.

First let me say I am sorry you are having problems with Destopx.I also use and build DXthemes. It does have some problems, But i find version 3 to be fairly stable. To answer your question... ObjectMedia comes with Object Desktop. When some one makes a dxplayer in DTX it requires ObjectMe

Hi J-Mac The easiest way is to have 2 graphics. One that will be your container and the other will be your Icon graphic. You will also need a button to make your popup work. I don't know how much you know about desktopx, So i will go about this as if you don't know very much.. You said you want to have a big icon on the desktop which will popup with a list of other icons. Determine what size you want the icon to be.(make it large enough to h

If you are using Desktopx and want to make a container to hold your icons. All you have to do is make a new object, Go to the states tab. Find your graphic that you want to use for a container, Under the General tab where it says object type click on "change" then in the next window, Check accepts drag and drop.. hit apply. Then drag your icons to your container.. I hope this helps, If this isn't what you are talking about please explain what you want

Have you used it just as a client or have you been building widgets with it? Yes I have made A Few widgets, How ever mostly I make DXthemes, And yes I do have a few problems with it. But not as many problems as i have with other programs. Before DX 3 I did have more problems then it was worth, So I s

Hmmm Just finished reading your article. I have a couple of thoughts i would like to share. You keep saying how powerful DX (Object DesktopX) is. Your right it is. That is part of the problem, For the average person who would like to make an outstanding Desktop or object. You seem to be upset with the skinning community for not making use of it's power, That all they do is make calendars and weather objects. Well I am sure that there are many ski

I have been buying both ObjectDesktop and a subscription for 4 years. I can't say that I love Wincustomize and it is not the first place that i go to when i am on line. For the most part I have not found it to be a friendly place. But I do like the program and I like to skin. I think that Wincustomize serves the community of skinners and skin users as no other site does. I do enjoy seeing the work of other skinners and downloading and using skins. So

OldHack wrote Thks a lot. I'm an oldie who pulls teeth everytime I try to change a pixel's worth on a downloaded theme. With your instructions on scripts I feel I just might be able to get one done sometime in the future. Right now I'm at the stage where I am trying only to: 1. Rename shortcuts (actually I can get the new name in a preset color and size, but it reverts to the old name on mouseover). 2. Rename icons. Can get a new i

Great job CerebroJD... Yes I think you should do more of the TUT's on scripting.. I think Desktopx is overlooked by many skinners because, To really make any thing exciting and useful it takes scripts to do it. I know that you can do a lot of the same things by using what is built into Desktopx but it takes longer and sometimes it can get really confusing filling in the messages for each object. One of the scripts I think would be useful would be a scr
