Problems running GalCiv II with windows 7 in Galactic Civilizations II GalCiv2 Forums

I love this game. At least I loved it until I could finally afford a good computer. Now I have a nice Dell tower with windows 7 and I can't get GalCiv II to run at all. I get the initial game startup then the screen goes black and nothing happens. No video, nothing just stuck. I have tried some of the basic things administrator setting, trying under different compatability modes as it ran fin under Windows XP previously. Can anyone help with getting thi

I have a similar issue. I just bought a new computer Dell Studio XPS running windows ultimate. Gal Civ II ultimate edition worked just fine with my old laptop and Windows XP. I can get the "start game" screen to come up but the screen goes black and unresponsive after that. Any suggestions?
