I actually have a minimod that does this included as part of my Enhanced 4X Mod . It's called "non-Vasari Phase Gate" when you download the minimods.

If you're wanting a dev response, they probably won't take is seriously while you are running a mod. For all they know its the mods fault. Chances are its something to do with your hardware, whether computer or speaker/headphones.
Have you played any of Paradox's games? Europa Universalis, Crusader Kings, Victoria, Hearts of Iron....all of them have way more depth and most have better AIs than Sins, which really only has the "space genre" thing going for it, and Stellaris will soon take away that too...I mean to each their own but there's a lot of RTS games out there with tons of depth and singleplayer emersion, Sins really doesn't hold a candle to t

GC3 has significantly better SP experience and you can expect the AI to improve dramatically in the future, something that you won't see with Sins....Sins is a streamlined game with a clear cut counter system that facilitates a strong MP
I will be playing Single Player only, kids and family schedule simply doesn't allow multi player. I've seen various complaints about the AI on the forum. Is the game worth playing in single player? I'm a Civ4 veteran so in time I should be able to beat an incompetent AI.
Absolutely. The vast majority of players just play single player, it just has its occasional quirks. Only the most competitive sorts can't stand it, which is probably not you

I couldn't remember the password or the username and I was on a different pc because the old one dropped dead. When I got a hold of steam support, they pretty much told me I was screwed, so I made another one and bought rebellion. Then second pc dropped dead, mostly because it was cheap and low grade, and that was 3 months after rebellion releas
I would call Steam support. Losing your Steam account is a pretty big deal. :p And a much better option of getting the expansions back versus having to play original Sins (to many people Vanilla actually means without mods, not expansions). Also if you registered the game via Stardock (I.e. it shows on your Stardock account), they might be able to get you the game back as well.
The Emperor Vasari has one heck of a skull! Must be how they determine social status in their culture. Excellent work as always! [e digicons][/e]

I only have one MC80B. While I'm playing more at a macro blob level, I am getting captures too frequently for it to be just the Tractor Beam Array on the one capship. The captured Immobilizer contingent is currently 16 units, and I definitely was capturing them in 2s and 3s each engagement. I do also have
I was wondering about that. . . There's no way to generate lines between them then?
No. I believe the game simply checks if planet A and planet B are in the same solar system. If they are not, it won't let you jump there. Only the implicit Star to Star lines, wormholes or manually created lines in galaxy forge can be used to get to a different star system.
Does it happen without the mod? If so, then the update changed your computer's font list somehow. IIRC the game does have its own font. You may have to verify the game installation or perhaps even reinstall to fix it (always good things to try anyways).
Shouldn't the Enterprise be a Sova? And no US Battleship love? :p
Again, this was a while ago and I cannot locate the save, but I am almost certain that the encounter was at a hydrocarbon planet.
Uh what? The captureable trade ports should only be spawning on uncolonizeable gravity wells. Or the pirate base. Their whole point was to give trade to planets that could only get it by Starbase otherwise.
I think it may have been the pirate trading outpost encounter, but I could be wrong.
Well yes, it only spawns during that encounter (and at pirate bases). If you think one of the planets it spawns at it not set up correctly, preventing players from building their own starbase, I'll need to know what planet type it is.
While I'm on the topic of entity classifications, did you intend on the neutral trade station in E4X being classed as a starbase? Seems a bit weird to me...
Yes. Sins likes to dump if you spawn certain civic structures like trade ports in an uncolonizeable gravity well. I had a very different solution before, but it turned out that it subtly but severely screwed up the AI. So I scrapped that and went wit
It works well except faction relationships scores. When one player becomes Loyalist from Neutral and other player becomes Rebel (via research), there is no relationship penalty between them...
Did you try adding another section for both sub factions you can choose in game to the player.entity file? I really should have tried this already come to think about it, but its possible it could work.
Other mods do use it. Star Wars Interregnum, Sins of a Galactic Empire, and Star Trek Armada 3 are just some of the big names that found uses for it, though not always for picking a different subfactions, and some only use it on particular factions. For just one choice, whether its for choosing a subfaction or something else, it works well. If you want multiple mutually exclusive choices, it quickly becomes a pain to do.
Stardock basically unofficially confirmed Sins 2 was in the works on the Steam forum, but that it would take a while. I think we'll see it much sooner than 14 years. :p

Why didn't you just reinstall the game? I'm not sure how steam backup copies work, but likely certain settings were set for your old PC that do not work on the new PC. By skipping the reinstall process you might have missed out on installing important drivers, default settings, direct X and other frameworks used by the game etc.
