I had the same problem. What solved it for me, and a couple other people, was to make an extra user profile in addition to your own (so that there are at least two profiles). Hopefully this will solve it. Good luck!
So I downloaded and installed the demigod beta, it's running right now but I'm trying to play it and I can't. I'm going through: Run the game; Multiplayer - LAN; Host Game. I get the the create LAN game page and make a name and then when I click HOST GAME it just says "Trying to connect..." and stays like that for however long (I've waited 10 minutes at most) until I click Abort Connect. Ports are set to auto, I've tried some manual ports. No idea what's going on her
