Sorry Stardock this game is going to own my life =((((((

I was just using the amount of cinematics as a means of showing the effort being put behind the single player, I'm not even a fan of rts single player games. I find it's not the greatest means of story telling. It all comes down to "wait and see" basically. They said they have features up their sleeve to one up LAN so who knows.
This is from Karune, Blizzard's Community Manager on their B.net forums. "As mentioned by Rob Pardo in interviews, piracy is a serious problem and often times tie in closely with LAN. At the end of the day, we want the best for the community and fans that support our games, and having chunk of the community pirate the game actually hurts the community. 1) Pirated servers splinter the community instead of consolidating all players who love to play the ga
The great thing about Blizzard games is it's filled with so many features and such a large modding community that it really doesn't matter what they tailor the game to everyone will find fun from it. That's been my main gripe with PC Games (at least in the strategy department) is games are being downsized without features because they don't deem them important enough. Replays, easy means of communicating with friends, clan channels, tournament support etc. So in conclusion GIVE ME THI
I had no idea what LoL was till reading this topic and it actually looks quite good. I love the ideas they have come up with.
I have no interest in single player oriented games so I won't be buying Elemental.
SC2 isn't a universal means of RTS for everyone. Though i'm really pumped for it :) Demigod will keep it's small niche community for awhile but kinda shot themself in the foot with this release. Pre-release i had friends interested in buying it since they were Dota fans but I'd be a bad person to recommend this to anyone in it's state and eventually went into a refund and read these forums on occasion to observe drama lol
I give a multiplayer system made in the late 90's a little bit more room for error seeing as they were the first matchmaking systems. This is 11 years later.
Only reason why people were complaining about playing AI in demigod is because they were in a forced position to do so to finish a game. As someone who enjoys a competitive game AI's just weren't for me. Of course there are new players who just want to mess around with their friends versus AI's. So having them in your multiplayer would just be making the game more accesible to the various types of players out there.
I find it hard to generalize the Dota community seeing as it's so fucking huge. Any community that large of course will have alot of pricks running around.
Game reviews are terrible way of deciding to buy a game. Any game I've bought is based off a prior good experience with a game from that company or a friend recommending me one. Just so happened that 75% of the games I play ended up being from Valve and Blizzard lol Best way imo if you are looking into a game is just watch gameplay videos of it. Having one sole person decide what a game's worth seems odd to me, look to the people playing it!!!
[quote who="b0rsuk" reply="18" id="2187750"]Ellestar: Can you support that ? "Build order" is a phrase extremely common in RTS communities, and it's something often hotly debated. Perhaps because a game like starcraft leaves little else to master except build orders and finger dexterity ? It's carefully stripped of anything else that might upset balance. Map is symmetric, resource gain and recruitment capabilities - symmetric.... Build order X means having Y more zerglings in enemy base
I find it hard to really generalize anything in the game at the moment considering how vastly different blizzard games come out from alpha to release.
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the Blizzard "done when it's done" from the very beginning when they were a small company?
I miss 2d games when developers could focus completely on gameplay, the amount of quality releases in recent years is kind of depressing =/ Only developers I follow are Blizzard and GPG at this point and I'm not a fan of the dota style gameplay so I'll be waiting for elemental.
It's fine if you won't buy Starcraft 2 but to come in to a thread that's obviously about excitement for Starcraft 2 you should think to yourself maybe I just shouldn't post here. Oh well troll away -.-
8) Starcraft 2 becomes too popular and requires too much bandwith usage and is banned by the government.
MrVyngaard, people love their drama. Blame reality tv or something =)
I just look at the expansions as a way of funding Battle.net 2. So I'm all for a good online matchmaking system =)
I love support and feedback from devs and all but this game wasn't what I was expecting when I was all hyped up with the hybrid gameplay that i pre-ordered 6 months ago, sadly I'll probably be looking to get a refund (already tried but was told i could only get it after release, so i stuck with it for a bit longer and still am not impressed). Enjoy my 13 dollar donation to your company for the few times i did play GPG :P I can see why people can get into this game and hope it becomes
1. Starcraft - Brood War // Starcraft 2 - If SC2 comes out it will make me stop playing brood war =) 2. Demigod - Help make the release to SC2 less tedious 3. Counter Strike - I just can't quit you =(
New maps on BW don't really affect the low leveler's like me anyways :P I don't really like calling things an e-sport cause very few games have the ability to reach this level, especially with the focus on graphics > gameplay as today's standards in video games. All I want out of a game is one with high competitive depth and FUN. If I enjoy the game I will keep playing it, if it's a hard game to figure out I will keep playing it for a long time.
Graphics are overrated, play games for their gameplay. Graphics should be secondary and used as all only an accompaniment.
Considering how small the player base is atm, on release these imbalances will become quite an issue
I wish a wave of reinforcement minions left unattended are actually something to be dealt with. At this point it's "Oh my towers will own them while taking barely any damage"
