After all these discousions - the last updates were crazy huge again. Now from 1.15.048 to 1.16.051 = 220 MB. WHERE THE HELL IS THE BENEFIT now of this impulse stuff?????? Increment updates huh? Everytime i´ll start it - a new update of impulse is boring me as well. Boys this is a F$%&/)(=? DRM TOOL - nothing more. All those fine lib promises are just smoke on the water. Damn it.

While I think the poster took his position a few steps to far, on some level I initially agreed with him. The reality is that while there is a clearly different attitude here at Stardock, you are selling in a cynical world and I would argue that when I initially heard about "Impulse" the last thing I had in min

Dear All, a very good discussion :-). My personal opinion is, impulse wont avoid piracy. There are a lot of tools out there in order make system diffs before and after you install software. It doesnt matters what kind of changes are done to the os. They track them down and create replyable repositories - One way of Enterprise software distribution (MS SMS, Netinstall, etc.). For my own, i ll play 95% online. You need a valid key to play, therfore i dont

Frogboy, There is no doubt about the deeper motives regarding anti piracy, a legitmate approach. That topic is not the discussed here, neither your support effort and engagement. If you say, i dont read your posts ;) well i have the same feeling with mine.I ll try it with some other words. You find a lot of users in this forum asking why are they forced to use a new tool without any alternative way. A lot of arguments here around why and how pretty nice to

Interesting info, Frogboy! Just to clarify, my statement was that I believe the majority of the most vocal segment of the "I Hate Impulse!" crowd are the warez kiddies. I don't doubt that there are legitimate issues that arise, otherwise there'd be no need for a tech support staff Yea, as a general statement I agree with you. <a href="/get;1

Dear all, this ***** kind of software isnt working. I still get an exeception after logon to impulse! If i go for send error report i ll get the next failure message "Log execption is not a valid Webservice". I am really annonyed regarding this stuff here and the stardock company. Complaining users are pirates if they are disagree with the behaivor around and on the other hand we are beta testers for that stuff. Since the release of 1.1 i can´t play

Simmyaz, Frog, it is pretty easy to mark every one in this forum as pirate?!?! - if they are not happy how a company deals with valid and paying customers. A very short and easy view on it. I am software developer and belive me, i am no friend of pirates. Nevertheless buying some software and being forced to use a kind of drm tool in order to be able playing further online is not an acceptable way. This is w

I ll understand the idea behind impulse in order to control the "legal" installed "fleet" out there. This is a kind of DRM system. On the other hand side, i am playing 95% online and 5% on the lan with my friends (if we find time). I ll hate it to being forced by anything and one - may my paranioa - being foreign controld what happens on my pc. To play online you need a valid license - this is for what this game was build. A patch application wont bring stardock the success i

Stardock FORCES me to use a kind of Software in order to update my bought games? WHY??? Where is the privacy statement, who knows what kind of data collection is done in the background. If i am forced to do so, it is the first step towards DRM - nothing more! Add online control like steam and ur in business.... remeber i´ve been forced. If it would be an option, besides the rock-solid download patches it has not that taste...and why are customers forced? <p

Dear Thrawn, i can´t logon for playing online anymore. As far as i red here around, i ll need the new patch. To gather a game patch i have to download and install a kind of software which i don´t trust. I ´ ll accept a registration in order to receive updates, but not a kind of software which is a damn DRM system. If the vendor changes his strategy or being busted your lost. I didn bought Half-Life cause of Steam - i ll hate this stuff. Collecting only
